Four years ago, we took a leap of faith to follow our dreams to serve our community and open pub. We became a community hub, a “third place” if you will, for many.
We have had many achievements; winning the Dejardin Good Spark Grant that allowed us to build a composting system, help develop Flour Mill Community Farm, & help initiate The New Roots Collective and build another community garden. We won the Erica Lagios award from Rethink Green for Sustainable Food Practices in 2023, and received Gold in Best Bars & Pubs through Sudbury Community Votes 2025. We have hosted many political leaders and dozens upon dozens of community events. We’ve been featured in Porter Airlines Magazine & Canadian Geographic. And we sit at a 4.8 on Google Reviews, which we are very proud of.
Yet, and with very heavy hearts, we announce the upcoming closure of Knowhere Public House. After a year of personal unfortunate events, and business sales not being what we need them to be, we hold our hat in hand, and have to bow out.
Over these years, post-pandemic, the economy has shifted drastically and we learn that people and their lives are just not what they used to be. We have also continued to face the challenge of guests battling to come downtown as they see it unsafe, and struggled with panhandlers and homeless people leaving too many unpleasant experiences for us, our staff, our guests and our landlord.
We wish to thank each of our clients for your loyalty and support over the years. It has been a distinct pleasure to have served you and for many of you to have become our friends. We also extend our thanks and appreciation to our dedicated team members and local suppliers. We really can’t say enough about the KPH team!
Our final day of business will be Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. The next six weeks will be those of celebration and gratitude, with lots of live music scheduled! So, please drop by before to relive some memories, enjoy a bite, sip a craft beer or cocktail, and to say goodbye.
With honour,
Kaitlin & Bill
