So our lease has officially come to an end and we’ll be relocating.
Sadly wasn’t the past two years as we expected. 2017, due to the worst weather in apparently almost a century and 2018 due to focussing on the relocation of our main location (Black Irish Catering in Ottawa which fell through and “Fecked” {said with an Irish accent } everything up.
2016 was however a tremendous year at Champagne Bay's Bistro in Ivy Lea, motivating this idea.

Thank you to those who have enjoyed it and supported. Perhaps we’ll see you at a nearby marina or golf course next season.
Keep your eyes open.
Much love,
The Black Irish

Well Fans, it’s safe to say we will not be opening the Bistro (in Gananoque) this season.

With the exciting relocation of the flagship facility in Ottawa to a finer area and separate building, it has taken up most of our time. We’ve also decided not to deal with the stress of operational issues of a facility 160kms away.

We are a little sad not to be able to provide but rather not have our reputation tampered with in the absence of particular management.

Perhaps we’ll see you in another marina or golf course next season as our lease is almost expired.

We do apologize to the team we attempted to employ for the inconvenience of not being able to provide. We were eager to work alongside you.

Thank you to those that have enjoyed us for your patronage.

Hello all,
We’ve tried to post subtle updates and hope that you have noticed.

Firstly, we’d like to thank our team of staff for their patience as per this delay. The reason for this delay is as per an aggressive last-minute and tremendous opportunity to be able to relocate the mothership facility. At the same time the proprietor is also having to relocate, so two moves with trying to re-open the Bistro with a new team can be a stressor lol. It’s 3 weeks late but we’re planning on opening the weekend of July 7th with the intension (like last season) of remaining open later but that is also staff dependant (as we learned from last season lol).

The good news is that the water levels are normal and the weather is forecasted to be a beautiful summer. In reality, the weather has been a only a bit better so we’re sure we’re not losing out too much like we did last June when we opened (and the cost of labour alone was unpleasant,...but that’s apart of business).

Our biggest upset at the moment is not being able to provide for our team. But we are confident that with the forecasted weather, the normal water levels and having a good reputation that will be able to provide to make up for the delay.

Again, thank you dear patrons and very special thank you to the team for your empathy and patience.

The Black Irish has been keeping us busy (and paying for us over the winter & spring season when Many other businesses in that area closed as well).
Soft opening happening very soon.
Still the finer dining yet traditional Irish and Spanish cuisine’s to be provided. Even hours of operation will reflect as such.

FINALLY the beautiful weather seems to be here (also similarly forecasted over the summer) and the river levels seem to be normal as last year was challenging (especially farmers) for many businesses as per flooding and terrible weather.

We should officially be doing a soft opening Saturday June 2nd, 6pm -9ish with our new team.
Ours hours of operation shall be shared soon.

The menu shall feature Oysters (of course), some old fav’s and some new items.

The Black Irish is excited to be back in Gan for another season.

Hello valued Bistro patrons (Gananoque),
It is with a heavy Irish heart we update you that we will not be celebrating St.Paddy at the Bistro this season.
Primarily reason; We had hoped to have maintained last season’s staff or have met some new ones recently and unfortunately we’re still a little short to provide the service we expect for you.
Besides, drunken shenanigans aren’t all we’re about.😉
Thank you for your understanding and we’ll see you soon.☘️

We’re getting ready to hire for our Gananoque location(s) 🥂☘️🍾🍺

Would like to extend the offer to the previous team & friends for a supervisory role as it looks like we’re expanding this year onto the water (and greens, TBA 😉).

Let me know who’s interested.

Btw, our potential new location will be casual dining and with delivery to the immediate Lane, area and possibly very nearby Islands.

So we’re also looking for responsible DRIVERS with a reliable vehicle and/or an individual with a boating license.

Jet ski or small boat may be provided.

DM us if interested.

Well, we are extremely disappointed but unexpectedly as of today due to unforeseen circumstances the Bistro will be closing earlier than expected this season.
We still will be attempting to host the Xmas party on Dec 16th however 😉!!

Unfortunately, a couple of our most relied upon previous and current team members have and are facing hospitalization for medical issues.

As it is the quiet time of the year we are currently down to minimal staff and was attempting to offer employment but with the absence of a reliable team, it has lead to this decision to avoid jeopardizing our reputation.

Thank you Amber Scott and Tikvah Mindorff for your support and patience through this moment!

We hope to see all of our valued patrons this following spring for St. Paddys when the Bistro reopens.
Thank you for your continued patience and support.
The Black Irish Bistro.
