🌟The superstar behind our divine cocktail menu, this is our beautiful Ginelle!🌟

Our Edmonton born & raised girl - Gin moved to Fernie in June 2020 after a Kicking Horse season. Not ready to give up on her ski bum life, Gin moved to Fernie with a best friend. While she had never been to Fernie before, she fell in love with it as soon as she arrived! ‘Fernie felt so normal & the people were all so happy’ – Ginny’s now been here for 6 years 🫶🏻🫶🏻

🧀In 2022 Brama held a Caesar making competition which Ginny won with her yummy & crazy cocktail - ‘The Cheasar’. 🧀 If you’ve ever tried it, you know it was a drink made by a cocktail extraordinaire (& by a woman who loves a pickle & a slice of brie). After this stunning victory it was the Brama goal to get Gin on the team, and in October 2024, after she returned from a year in New Zealand, we succeeded🙌🏼

🍷 When Ginny started she was a little intimidated about working in a w**e bar, as her w**e knowledge stretched as far as knowing there were different colours…Now, however, Ginny is our w**e expert amateur! Catch her talking to tables about the perfect w**e pairing because this girly knows her stuff.

If Gin had her way, she would then lead this into her ‘expert amateur’ snowboarding ability - but I promise you there is nothing amateur about the way this girl boards! 🏂This winter she came second in the Red Freeride competition, but we all know it should have been first place.🏆Ginny was born a skier at 5 years old but converted to the one plank and the age of 10. She would spend all her money as a 19-year-old driving to Banff for a day trip from Edmonton, until 2 years later she realized moving to the mountains was something she should have done years ago.

🌟Meet our Sous-Chef, Dimitri🌟

Dimitri was born & raised in Vittorio Veneto - a town in the prosecco region not too far from Venice & the Dolomites. At 5 years old Dimitri started cooking, or ‘helping’ to cook, with his Mum at home.

If you’ve eaten with us recently, you’ll see some new menu items that Dimitri has brought to the restaurant from home. The ‘Le Classiche’, ‘Olivata’ & ‘Sbrisolona’ are Dimitris’ classic dishes that add a lil Vittorio Veneto sparkle to our menu, & you best believe they’re delicious!

Dimitri moved to Canada in June 2025, and joined the Bramasole family that November. Being a winter man, Dimitri was drawn to Fernie for the snow & mountain living, but (in classic Fernie style), he has stayed for summer! & now, Fernie is proving that you can enjoy summer just as much as winter!

Being our resident Italian stallion here at Brama, Dimitri also takes on the role of dialect coach (as much as he hates it). It’s tiring for Dimitri to have the whole staff repeating menu items at him until we get the ‘yes, okaaay’ - confirming that we have just about used the right pronunciation. Dimitri then has to listen to us return to our tables, full of confidence, & completely butcher the pronunciation 🫠🫠

I asked Dimitri about his relationship to food, and he says ‘well, I can’t stop snacking, so not good - but I guess that’s not good to say. So, let’s say: I love experimenting with new flavours!’

& that’s our sassy Dimitri for you 🫡
