hip. Our History:
In 1968, William Hugh Adsett (WHA) founded the Fergus and Area Shopping News and WHA Publications was born. William Adsett was the only employee. His office was the front seat of his 1965 Chevy Impala. The rest, as they say, is history. The newspaper grew and expanded to become The Wellington Advertiser and the one-man-show has grown to 48 staff members, and now includes a print division and sign shop. The Wellington Advertiser is currently one of the largest independent newspapers in Southwestern Ontario. The newspaper has a circulation of 39,362. In addition to The Wellington Advertiser, we produce The North Wellington Community News, which has served Mapleton Township since 1971 and has expanded to Minto and Wellington North townships. Its current circulation is 13,278.
