With everyone asking lately, “What exactly IS Shine?” — here’s the story.
Shine started with two best friends behind a bar.
We were bartending some of the biggest and best events around Essex County. We didn’t create those events — we serviced them. And somewhere along the way, we realized we were pretty damn good at this.
So we went full tilt with mobile bartending.
Then, after standing behind the bar at wedding after wedding, we had another realization:
We can do the food too.
We both knew how to throw down in a kitchen, we knew how to feed a crowd and, most importantly, we already understood events.
So we did it.
Bartending turned into catering.
Catering turned into weddings, showers, corporate events, celebrations and some pretty incredible parties.
That is the core of Shine Hospitality. We are an event-based business.
The restaurant came later. It gave us a home base, a kitchen and another place to bring people together — but events have always been our roots.
And now there’s Oxley.
We’ve taken over the clubhouse at Oxley Beach Golf Course. Yes, we serve food Thursday through Sunday, but our vision there is so much bigger.
We want Oxley to be social.
Golf a few rounds. Stay for dinner. Have a drink. Bring your friends. Have your engagement party, bridal shower, birthday, wedding — whatever you’re celebrating, we want to be part of it.
And none of this happens with just the two of us.
We have an AMAZING team behind Shine.
Here’s Amanda and Chantelle — two faces you’ll very likely see at your event when you book with us. They’re a huge part of what we do and the experience we’re able to give our clients.
At the end of the day, Shine is pretty simple:
We throw parties.
We feed people.
We pour the drinks.
We bring people together.
We do events.
That’s where we came from.
And that’s still who we are. 🤍
