We are two shows into our 2026/27 season and we just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Edmonton is beautiful this time of year. The leaves are changing, there’s a coolness in the evenings, and Friday nights start to feel made for gathering somewhere warm and listening to great music.

And we love that, on some of those Friday nights, you choose to spend them with us.

New Moon Folk Club has always been about more than what happens on stage. It’s about bringing people together. Sharing songs and stories. Discovering an artist for the first time. Hearing an old favourite again. Sitting beside friends, neighbours and fellow music lovers and experiencing something that only happens when live music fills a room.

That’s who we are.

We’re a folk club built around artists, audiences, community and a genuine love of live music; right here in Edmonton.

To everyone who buys a ticket, brings a friend, tells someone about a show, applauds a little louder or simply keeps showing up: thank you for being part of New Moon.

Kaiya Kodie is a rising artist whose introspective songwriting and evocative melodies create a beautifully immersive sound. Her EP, When The Lights Have All Gone Out, reached #2 on CKUA’s Top 30 chart, introducing listeners to a songwriter with a remarkable ability to capture those quiet, transformative moments of self-discovery with honesty and grace.

Performing alongside her is her father, Jason Kodie, an award-winning musician and composer whose career has taken him from the Olympic Games to the Smithsonian Institution. A master accordionist, pianist and soundscape designer, Jason brings decades of experience across theatre, festivals and collaborations with some of Canada’s most respected artists.

Together, they bring two distinct musical perspectives to one stage, weaving intricate musicianship with emotional storytelling in a performance that perfectly captures the heart of Generations.
