Huge shoutout to Jeremy Fawcett last night in CVMBL playoff action.

In five games, Jeremy posted scores of 17 BRO, 16,16,16, ans 14. He scored 92.94% of the 85 balls available.

That sets a playoff record for most points in a 5 game set in CVMBL playoff history.

On behalf of the Straight Shooters and the rest of the CVMBL we congratulate you on a monster night.

Hello Shooters.

The first 1st annual Amber Metcalfe Memorial is a wrap. What a great day, that brought together 24 players for 12 Scotch Doubles Teams. The family of Amber would like to express their sincere gratitude for the amazingly successful tournament. Amber would have been proud to see so many people having a great time.

The proceeds of this tournament $430.00 will be donated to the Humanity for Horses. Amber’s family chose the Humanity for Horses.

The 50/50 winner was Ron deLeeuw going home with $310.00. Thank you to all the second place finishers in the draw 🙂

The winners of the 2nd Memorial Tournament were:

1st place Kerri Isaac and Jeff Theriau (Donated 1/2 their winnings). Kerri shot very well today, and I don’t mind saying she was the lead in our pairing. She made some very impressive banks on the 8-ball for the wins, as well as the shot of the tournament with a two rail kick in the side through traffic to bring down the house.

2nd place Barb Williams and Sherwin Isaac ( Donated 1/2 their winnings) These guys quietly stayed focused and broke down every team, on their way to the finals. ( These ladies from Nanaimo, can shoot!!)

3rd place Damian Metcalfe and Ian Ruxton

The Straight Shooters and the CVMBL would like to thank you Society Barber owners Rhiannon and Ian Smith for their very generous donations to the prize table. Your selfless commitment to ur community is so appreciated. We simply could make these events possible without your generous donations. Call 250-597-0155 for your next haircut. Society has two locations, one on Kenneth street downtown Duncan; and the other shop is on Herd Road in beautiful Maple Bay in the old firehall.

Thank you to All Season Services and to Station Street Salvage for their continued support. If your moving, or need yard cleanup or aggregate dropped off at your home, call the owner Peter Williams at 250-246-0362 for their trucking services.

Again, we would like to thank all of the viewers, and players who came to make this Memorial Tournament a huge success. There was a lot of love and support shared on Saturday.

Huge thanks, to all the positive feedback from the day.

Shoot Straight,
Jeff Theriau

The CVMBL 8-Ball pool league in the Cowichan Valley Mixed Billiard League are looking for more players.

Our league is expanding to 12 teams this upcoming season in the fall of 2025 and winter of 2026.

Each team must have at least one lady on their roster. All rosters must have at least 5 players, preferably 7-8 players two of which I would recommend be at least two ladies.
CVMBL have two new venues for the uocoming season, so our league can expand. We also have sponsors coming back for a second year, as well new sponsors.
Please contact myself at [email protected] or go to the CVMBL.com website to sign up. Or call me at 250-246-7286 to register for the upcoming season.
The CVMBL are entering their second season in the Cowichan Valley. Our first year we just wrapped up in April was a huge success. We had awards for individuals and for all teams, as well as most sportsmanlike team.
If you're interested in signing up a team, please feel free to contact me.

Jeff Theriau
