Last Thursday evening, Collingwood Legion Branch 63 was proud to host the 1909 Cadet Corps Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
It was a wonderful night as graduating cadets were honoured for their dedication, hard work, and commitment. All cadets celebrated alongside family and friends, marking another successful year of growth, leadership, and service.
One of the highlights of the evening was Branch 63 presenting a cheque for $4,000 to support the cadet program, an investment in the continued success of these outstanding young people.
Congratulations to all award recipients, and especially to the graduating cadets. We wish you continued success in all your future endeavours!
Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so memorable.

On June 6, 1944, 14,000 Canadian soldiers stormed Juno Beach as part of the D-Day invasion. Facing some of the most intense defenses of the entire invasion and despite the incredible odds, the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division breached the enemy lines and advanced further inland on June 6th than any other Allied division.

Yesterday , Members of Branch 63, Branch Service Officer Gerard Buckley and Sargent In Arms Ken Templeman paused to remember the 359 Canadians who made the ultimate sacrifice on those shores, and we honor the legacy of all who fought for the freedom we enjoy today.
