This is our local theater Super Cool spot. This is a movie about the fellow who owns the theater and his life story.He also has like 20 cats.There like a zoo

After a long winter (too long, if you ask me), Highlands Cinemas is back.

We reopen tomorrow — May 1st.

For over 45 years, this place has been a little different. Built in the woods, run on stubbornness, a love of movies, and the firm belief that watching a film should actually feel like something.

If you’ve been here before, you know.
If you haven’t… well, it’s about time you fixed that.

We’ve got the screens ready, the popcorn waiting, and yes—the cats are supervising as usual (poorly, but enthusiastically).

Come out, get your popcorn, check out the displays, and watch something the way it was meant to be seen: big screen and no nonsense.

The Blue Room Coboconk presents Will Gillespie Music and LOTUS WIGHT performing MINE True Stories and Legends of the Porcupine Gold Rush

Saturday, October 18th.

5:00pm dinner and show.

Multi-Instrumentalist Sam Allison AKA LOTUS WIGHT from Sheesham, Lotus and Son kicks things off, playing a set of Old-Time Music, followed by the duo performing Will's own award-winning "Campfire Cabaret" theatrical storytelling historical Folk Musical "MINE True Stories and Legends of the Porcupine Gold Rush" a 12-story song-cycle about the lost local legends and unsung Folk heroes from an exciting and adventurous chapter of Canadian history: the Porcupine Gold Rush of 1909.

Written in various different Folk and Jazz styles inspired by the popular genres of the time, from Bluegrass to Ragtime, Music Hall, Cabaret, Vaudeville, Dixieland, Hot Club Jazz, Swing, Barrelhouse Blues, Irish Ceilidh, Pub Songs, Waltzes and MORE!

Taking the listener on a Musical journey back in time, telling harrowing real-life tales of adventure and perseverance from a bygone era...

Visual Artist Susan Robinson Artist has painted a series of Northern Ontario landscape paintings that will be featured in backdrop projections along with historical photos of many of the real people places and events Will Gillespie will be singing about. With Lotus Wight on upright bass, banjo, jaw-harp and bass harmonica.
