For generations the Blue Saloon has been the friendly local watering hole in the small town of Carseland, AB. Visitors from near and far have enjoyed the camaraderie that comes with entering the Blue Saloon be it from the local residents sharing a cold one after a hard days work or the many visitors that pass through our small town. Just minutes from the Bow River, Wyndham Provincial Park and Speargrass Golf Course we greet many visitors the the saloon annually. No stranger to the spotlight, the Blue Saloon has been featured in the Hollywood Blockbuster Brokeback Mountain starring the late Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Randy Quaid and director Ang Lee. Other celebrities to grace the Blue Saloon is none other than Sam Elliott (that's right ladies, Mr. Elliott himself), see if you can spot the picture of him in house enjoying a scotch on our picture wall from over the years! Many car clubs and poker runs always include the Blue Saloon on their routes so don't be surprised if one weekend or evening you spy a bevy of beautiful cars or bikes parked out front. We run happy hour 7 days a week from 4-7pm for your enjoyment and also offer off-sales on select items. Be sure to pop in before summer is over to enjoy our SE facing patio, perfect any day of the week to meet up with a few friends. What a great day!! HUGE thank you to all of our amazing smokers...was a loooooong day (mine and Ian's started at 3:30...ugh), but all of the smiling faces made it all worth it!
Also, a huge thank you to everyone that came yesterday and those that, although may have not been there, but support us throughout the years!!

When: Sept 12, 2026

All-day happy hour prices, snacks, music and give aways! We will also have the patio extended with picnic tables for extra room to sit.

We will also be doing a brisket smoke-off, tickets $20 each. Judging will be at 5pm, followed by dinner shortly after.

Tickets will be on sale at the Blue on Tuesday, August 18th.

*We are a cash-only business. While we do have an ATM on site, we do recommend bringing cash with you when possible.*

A portion of the proceeds from dinner will be donated to Distress Centre Calgary.

Today!!!

Come one, come all to the Oku Damashi fundraiser BBQ! Burgers! Smokies! Raffle! Auction items!

We will be open at 11am today instead of noon to support the fundraiser.

There will be picnic tables set out for families with kids under 18. Please note that there will be no alcohol service to this area, nor will any be allowed off the premises. All those 18+ are welcome to sit on the deck/inside to enjoy an adult beverage with their food.

And while you're here, don't forget to get your tickets for the Brisket Bash on September 12th which is also customer appreciation day! $20/ticket for dinner 😋
