🐾🏒 COUGAR COMMUNITY, THANK YOU!
What a great way to kick off the season! Our Welcome Back BBQ brought Cougars and families together for food, fun, hockey and plenty of Cougar spirit.
A huge thank you to Spolumbo’s for helping keep our families fueled, and to 7 Chiefs Sportsplex for welcoming us and allowing us to use the Outdoor Rink Area for our celebration.
We’re also grateful for the Indigenous Welcome that helped open our event and recognize the land and community we gather on.
From the first hello to the final bite, we’re thankful to everyone who helped make the day such a great start to another season.

Our first-ever Southwest Hockey Gear Swap at the Welcome Back BBQ was a success! 🙌
Cougar families were able to give outgrown gear a new life, with players heading into the season with some great new-to-them gear.
And the gear that remained? Four XL bags have been donated to the Flames Equipment Bank, helping even more players get on the ice. ❤️
We also made a splash for a great cause! 💦💜 Thanks to your generous Dunk Tank donations, we raised $100 for Kids Cancer Care!
From swapping gear to supporting our community, that’s Cougar spirit! 🐾

Love hockey, taking photos, and being part of the action? This is a fun way to volunteer while capturing the moments that make Southwest Hockey special.
The majority of the role is attending Southwest events, assisting Celly, and capturing photos and videos right from your cell phone.
It’s a great way to get involved, cheer on our Cougars, and see all the fun happening around the rink!
