Cowtown Yeast Wranglers Club Page The Cowtown Yeast Wranglers are a Calgary-based club of homebrewers and beer enthusiasts. The club was founded in 2007.

Currently, our club members include home brewers, pro brewers, certified beer judges, and beer aficionados of all levels. Our members also include beginning brewers and those interested in beer and the brewing process. We welcome all levels of beer and brewing expertise, and the only prerequisite is that you have an interest and enthusiasm for our favourite beverage -- beer!

Weather is looking interesting for this years Canadian Homebrew Day!  Village is hosting us in their parking lot Saturday, June 6th.  Every year this is a ton of fun.  Great atmosphere and awesome seeing everyone’s different systems.

Additionally, Village will have our club beerfest beers on tap!  Wes d’Haene’s Hop Evicerator Hazy IPA and John Post’s Chinook Shadow Schwarzbier.

For those interested in brewing on site, we need to know system type, and size.  RO water will be available.  All other ingredients and equipment are up to you to bring.  We will aim to arrive for 9:30am to start setting up.  Mash in at 11:30am when they open.

This year our official club recipe for Canadian Homebrew Day is Dan Bronson’s COVID Crusher!  Brewing this recipe is optional (but club will provide malt for those brewing this recipe) — just come out and brew!

Join us at Village Brewery for this hop saturated meeting!

Nick Pereversoff from (Water Valley Hops) will be giving a talk on hops & growing hops!  Some hop plants will also be available for purchase.

We will also be having our Pink Boots Fan Favourite competition!

Our members were challenged with brewing any style of beer using only the 9th Annual Pink Boots hop blend (Ekuanot®, Centennial, HBC 638, and Mosaic®).  Which beer will impress you the most?  Put on your judging hat and cast your vote!

The Roundup is the first competition in the Brewer Of The Year (BOTY) circuit.  Enter beer/cider/mead, get great feedback from certified judges, win prizes!

Bottle drop off deadline is coming up soon Feb 20, 2026 at Village Brewery. We are also still looking for a few more judges, if you are available please reach out!

Our AGM will take place on November 12th.

This is a fantastic meeting to attend if you want to:
* 🎉 Learn about what goes into running our club 🎉
* 🎆 Hear about financials🎆
* 🙌 Second a bunch of motions 🙌
* 🍺 Drink beer with friends 🍺
Paid members will have received the meeting announcement, agenda, and financial statements directly via email earlier this week.  If you did not receive these documents, please send an email to [email protected]

After the meeting there will be plenty of time to socialize, drink beer, and give your best ideas for 2026 to the exec.

For those who plan on eating at Village, make sure to get your food order in before 7PM.
