A Small Update from Oranje Son Brewing

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that it’s time to close Oranje Son Brewing.

What started as a small garage brewery built out of curiosity and love for the craft has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of. Over the past five years I’ve had the chance to brew hundreds of batches, meet so many great people, and share a lot of good beer with this community.

Running the brewery alongside my HVAC business and family life has always been a balancing act, and lately it’s become clear that it’s time to simplify things and give more time back to those areas of life.

So this coming Saturday April 25th the retail store at the brewery will be closing.

To help clear out the remaining cans in the fridge, everything will be 40% off until it’s gone. If there’s a beer you’ve enjoyed over the years, now’s a good time to stop by and grab a few for the fridge.

I’m deeply grateful for everyone who stopped in, supported the brewery, shared a pint, or simply encouraged the journey along the way.

It’s been a great chapter.

🍻 10 Years of Community – Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser 🌶️

This weekend marks the 10th anniversary of the Knights of Columbus Chili Cook-Off. A fundraiser supporting families with sick kids in need.

I’ve been honoured to be a small part of this event over the past few years, and this year felt like one to lean in a little more.

I’ve brewed a special batch — Knights Lager — and put together some custom labels to celebrate the event and the people behind it. Along with that, I’ll be donating all our beer this year to help support the cause.

If you’re able to make it out, it’s always a great evening out. Good food, good people, and something that truly makes a difference for families going through a lot.

Hidden Gem is back.

Under the Oak
Some beers feel made for this exact moment.

With blanketed snow on the ground this morning, we’re releasing a stout that carries its own kind of quiet winter warmth.

Aged slowly in whiskey-kissed oak, this strong stout draws depth from the season , rich dark malts, subtle vanilla, a gentle spirit heat, like settling beside an old tree as the world turns peaceful and white.

Brewed for stillness. Meant to be savoured.

Picture this: a glass of Under the Oak resting in fresh snow, steam of your breath, the first silence of winter.

🚨 Preview Beer 🚨
We Were Held
Some seasons in life remind us we were never really on our own.
Even in the ache, in the waiting, in the questions something steady held us.
That sense of being carried, of finding warmth in the middle of the cold, became the heart behind this beer.

We Were Held is a rich, warming Barley Wine , full-bodied, slow to sip, and layered with depth and quiet sweetness, yet firm bitterness.
It’s a reminder that even in the hardest chapters, love still lingers.

A small preview this coming weekend before it finds its place in this year’s Advent Case.

🎄🍺 It’s That Time Again… 🍺🎄

The most magical (and slightly chaotic) time of year has officially begun at Oranje Son Brewing. Advent Beer Case season!

We’re deep in the brew kettles working on 24 completely original beers, one for each day leading up to Christmas. It’s a wild ride of creativity, late nights, and more yeast than any reasonable person should manage but we couldn’t resist doing it again.

We almost took a year off… but thanks to some very persuasive fans (and maybe a little holiday spirit), this marks our 4th year bringing the Advent magic to life.

So stay tuned, the lineup is taking shape, the brewhouse smells like pure Christmas joy, (and yes there may have been some Christmas Music playing already), the countdown to the first beer has already begun.
