We visited many a pubs on our Ireland tour and brought back many stories and even a few souvenirs!
The pictured pub here is, “P Kearney’s.”
It was absolutely stunning and not much larger overall than ours. We had a great time talking and joking with the bartender Lewis.
One of the highlights was trying to find Irish whisky that I just can’t get in Canada.
Croithli Irish Whisky was sitting nearly empty on their shelf. I inquired about it and then had to try it. It is a delicious single malt, small batch and thankfully, for me, I was able to finish off the bottle.
Lewis then signed the bottle and handed it to me as a gift and also as a gesture of appreciation for knowing and discussing whisky. He also insisted we come behind the bar.
Now, owning our own bar, when you’re invited behind someone else’s bar, you know it’s a big deal. How someone sets, organizes and runs their bar, is their personal and professional space. Being invited “behind the scenes” and to stand and see where they work, was an amazing opportunity.
I let him know that I would happily bring back the bottle to Canada and add it to the many stories that our dear bar now holds.
So all the way from there to here, and now, it’s where it will stay! It will be appreciated and displayed and also a reminder of our time at P Kearney’s and our meeting with Lewis!
Many more stories to come. Stories of one couples awesome Irish adventures! Stay tuned!
Hey Lewis!!!
