The Beausejour Lions Club, in conjunction with the Beausejour Hotel / BJ’s Bar, will be putting on the 3rd annual Beausejour Lions Club 8-Ball Pool Tournament to help raise funds Beausejour Lions Club's local charities on the weekend of Feb 28 to March 1. The tournament will run from 7pm to midnight on Friday; 12 noon to midnight on Saturday; and from 1pm to completion on Sunday.
Last year we had a full field of 52 participants (4 round-robin brackets of 13 people each). It is be open to anybody 18 years of age or older, however it will be presented to local competitors and Beausejour Pool League players prior to advertising in Winnipeg, so that the locals have more opportunity to make plans to enter. Premier players of the province will only be able to enter on February 18, if it isn’t already full. They will be allowed to join a waiting list for a $5 non-refundable deposit (the $5 deposit will go to the Lions charity if the tournament is full and they don’t play). No-shows for the tournament will be replaced by the first person on the waiting list.
The entry fee for each player will be $30. $25 of which will go into to the prize fund and $5 will go to the charity. The entry fee will have $25 refundable up to the end of the Monday prior to the tournament.
We will have several 50/50 draws throughout the weekend (every 3 hours or so) + a silent auction to create more funds for the Lions.
We are asking the local businesses for donations of prizes or cash. There are several ways to do this.
The 4 brackets can be individually sponsored for $50 each. These funds will go to the charity in full. Each bracket will have its own name. Each sponsor will be mentioned several times throughout the weekend.
We would also like to have an 8-ball break jackpot of $50. This would be given to a player who sinks an 8 of the break cleanly (all other pool balls must stay on the table). If this prize does not get claimed, it will go to the charity. If there is more than one donation for the 8-ball break jackpot, we can have more than one winner.
If anybody has any trophies or plaques to donate, it would be appreciated as well. We will give trophies to the top player and top female, plus we have a plaque to put the names of the winners.

My sincere apologies if I missed anybody!
