Update: Mark had succumb to his injuries Saturday.

Thoughts and prayers are with Mark Currie, a local Matsqui resident and frequent Suburban Swing dancer, who was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on Wednesday.

Mark is currently on life support with catastrophic injuries. I have personally known Mark for more than eight years, and he is truly one of the kindest people you could ever meet, the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone else.

Mark has a loving family here in Abbotsford and many friends who are now rallying around him and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

Please keep Mark, his family, and everyone who loves him in your thoughts and prayers. Pray for strength, comfort, and wisdom as his family and medical team face some very difficult decisions.

Mark has touched many lives in our community. Right now, he needs all the love and support we can send his way.

Suburban swing is unveiling our new design for our tshirts. Available soon! suburban swing logo will remain on the front like it is today but the back will have this amazing design.

How this came to be? This was a few months of collaboration from our staff and volunteers. Once we all gave our input and designs, the design was finalized by a local dancer and graphic designer, Ghadir Mounib who spent many days on it. Carson Loeppky designed the letters and 50s style images, I put in the leaf because i wanted some sort of canadian representation, and Kelsy Domke design inspired the shoes. We also wanted a mountain to represent the swing summit event but to also represent BC and the amazing scenery we have here. So, design is not just one person, its a collaborated effort of many.

We also had much input on the design location. To make it more appealing for the women in our community, it was decided to put this design on the back. Thanks once again everyone for making a collaborated design.

Shirts will be available this Sunday and at the retreat. Black only at this time.

We’re proud to have Jenna Alamwala and her band as our host band for the final night of Swing Summit 2026!

Join us for an evening of great music, swing dancing, and put of town guests as we close out the Swing Summit Retreat.

This is a PUBLIC EVENT — everyone is welcome, whether you’re attending Swing Summit or just want to come out for a great night of live music and dancing!
