Most people get a birthday card.

Some people get a bar stool.

Apparently, one Dog House regular got a quesadilla named after her.

Introducing the Traceadilla. 🍕🌮

Our regular quesadilla loaded up with pepperoni instead of chicken, because sometimes life demands pizza, but your stomach says, “Let’s not get carried away.”

Served with a side of ranch because we’ve tested the alternatives and this is the hill we’re willing to die on.

It’s not officially on the menu yet, but enough people have ordered it, loved it, and asked for it by name that it might have to be.

And yes, before anyone asks, it is named after one of our regulars who just happens to be the person behind the social media.

We’d like to say there was a rigorous approval process.

There wasn’t. 😂

🌴 Island Problem Monday 🌴

Someone: “Want to head down south?”

Me: “TODAY?!”

Passport: ❌
Customs: ❌
Visa: ❌
Planning strategic refreshment stops: ✅

If you live north of the bridge, heading down south requires approximately the same level of planning as an international vacation.

And if you live south?

We’re pretty sure coming north feels exactly the same way.

For some reason, heading down south feels less like running errands and more like embarking on an expedition.

Different scenery.
Different architecture.
Different vibe.

Somehow, 15 miles down the road feels like an entirely different country.

Fortunately, The Dog House is here for pre-trip planning meetings and post-trip recovery drinks. 🍻

SATURDAY BRUNCH UPDATE ☔🍳🥂

Well…

The rain finally heard all of our complaints about the dust and decided to show up with backup.

Thunder.
Lightning.
Buckets of rain.

Mother Nature apparently woke up this morning and chose drama.

The good news?

You now have a completely legitimate excuse to skip your chores, abandon your plans, and spend the morning eating brunch instead.

Chicken & waffles.
Build-your-own avocado toast.
Quiche.
Mimosas.
Coffee.
And a dry place to sit while pretending you’ll “head out when the rain slows down.”

(Spoiler alert: it won’t.)

Brunch is on from 9-2.

Who recognizes these two Dog House legends?

Not much has changed in the last seven years…

One is still glued to his phone.
One is still perfectly happy with a cold drink in hand.

And somewhere, just outside the frame, we’re pretty sure there’s a Fireball shot or two waiting for these guys. 🥃😂

Some things come and go.

The flags change.
The faces get a little older.
The stories get a little bigger.

But somehow these two are still doing exactly what they were doing in 2019.

Belizean Classics Thursday 🇧🇿

Today’s special: Baked Chicken with rice and coleslaw.

And listen… we know “baked chicken” doesn’t exactly sound exciting.

Neither does “stew chicken.”

Yet somehow both end up being the kind of meal that has people quietly staring at their plate wondering why it tastes so ridiculously good.

Fall-off-the-bone chicken.
Rich Belizean flavor.
Rice soaking up every last bit of goodness.
And the kind of coleslaw that makes you feel like you’re balancing things out nutritionally.

One of the longest-running rivalries at The Dog House, where the trash talk is subtle, the side-eyes are strong, and nobody’s admitting they’re competitive while being deeply competitive.

Dominoes kick off at 5PM tonight.

Cold drinks. Good people. Strategic tile slapping. And at least one dramatic sigh when somebody realizes they should’ve played the double six three rounds ago.

And it’s actually gorgeous outside today!

Which means there’s really no excuse not to come throw darts badly with us tonight. 🎯

Congratulations to us all, because now the island is covered in a fine layer of dust and regret. ☀️💨

Your golf cart?
Dusty.

Your patio furniture?

Your feet 14 seconds after putting sandals on?
Dusty.

Honestly, everybody secretly wants rain right now.
Not a hurricane.
Not a tropical storm.
Just one solid “maybe I don’t need to wipe everything down again today” kinda rain.

Saturday brunch is officially on duty. 🧇🍳🥂

And honestly… after the emotional rollercoaster this island has been on all week, we feel like everyone deserves good food, a mimosa, and absolutely zero responsibilities for at least a couple hours.

Today’s game plan:

* The off-menu BLT on Amy’s homemade sourdough (if you know, you know)

Starting at 5PM until sold out:
Pasta Bolognese with garlic toast

* 50% of profits go toward Terry’s medical expenses and the creation of a fund in her honour.

Terry’s Disco Dream Cocktail

* 100% of profits from the cocktail will go toward those same efforts.
* Available all week long.

Cribbage kicks off at 2PM, so come grab a seat, settle in, and help us celebrate a woman who brought colour, chaos, sass, and unforgettable energy everywhere she went.
