https://youtu.be/_hLSAXwCCFY Msg from Max : Na een ganse week ‘hard’ werken aan alle Artist & label statements die voor eind september toch weeral, ondanks de crisis in de entertainment sector , de deur uit moeten , was het op een eenzame vrijdag avond aan de Costa Blanca nu toch wel even tijd voor wat muziek; en ik kwam zonder bijzondere aanleiding bij Vapour Space terecht en zijn onwaarschijnlijke early techno track ‘ Gravitiational Arch Of 10’ waarop ik zelf en in velen mijn clubs & en op mijn party nights zoals in The Temple,R***e, Lazer club nights, Obelix,Zazou, ,... en menig andere clubs & underground party’s de dance-Floor on Fire hebben gezet. Niks bijzonders natuurlijk , maar ik had eens zin om iets ‘luchtigs’ te posten en zeker in Club Zazou was het bij deze track ‘Alles donker in Zazou, rookmachines aan , alle strobo’s on ...en going for the long trip 🥳🤪 ‘ 😁😉 Enjoy your weekend 🥂

Episode 4 van onze teletijdmachine. Ik denk nog vaak met veel liefde terug aan de Funk You feestjes die Stijn Van Nuffelen organiseerde begin van dit millenium in de Zazou in Lier. Een soundsystem die de bassen door je lichaam deed trillen en een trouw open-minded publiek maakte dat je je een voelde met dansende lijven in die dondere bunker. Een plek om ongegeneerd vette breaks en donkere electroplaten te knallen, maar ook funky minimal, oldskool techno en house. Hier werden vriendschappen voor het leven gesmeed. De allnighter back-to-back met Jan Van Biesen tijdens de allerlaatste Funk You zal ik nooit vergeten.

Dj Max La Menace is one of the pioneers of electronic dance-music in Belgium, as he started to Dj way back in the eighties in the first undeground clubs in Antwerp like Club Domino & Avant-Garde Club Jay's in Antwerp where he played the first wave of electronic dance-music at the high-times of electronic New-Wave & electro . As he followed the evolution of Dance- Music from closeby, he swiftly followed in the early nineties towards the upcoming first wave of House- music & later on Trance, Techno & Psychedlic Goa Trance.Max played an important role in the elctronic dance- music scene in Belgium as he became at the age of 21 already the manager/owner of Avant-garde Club Jays in Antwerp & later on followed many other clubs ( The Project (Stabroek) , Club R***e (Mechelen) , Club Zazou (Lier), ... ) & famous party organisations as Technodelia, Goadelia,Lazer Club (from the famous illegal Belgian House-radio station Lazer) and organised in cooperation with the famous Belgian House magazine 'OUT SOON' the 'Belgian Techno Dj Contest' and the radio programs 'Out Soon ..on the air' (on Channel X) and ''The Visions of Trance' (Lazer) togethjer with Dj The Fly (founder of Bonzai records)....and played in Belgium & abroad on hundreds of raves & party's Max is still active as a sporadic producer, remixer & mastering- soundengineer besides of the coordinative work of the ASG-Group.Now finally he found time to finalise a track that has been laying around unfinished for a while 'XTC Drumcode ' is here in it's original version + two remixes....Enjoy my Zazou friends.

Already 10 years ago...how time flies :'(

How time flies ! Deze ochtend merkte ik op dat het reeds exact 10 jaar geleden is dat in mijn laatste en erg geliefde Club , de Zazou , de laatste party plaats had alvorens we die week onverwachts gesloten werden nadat de stad Lier gans onze boel in beslag had genomen en de Zazou had verzegeld :'(

Ondanks onze legale inspanningen nadien hebben we de legendarische club nooit meer kunnen heropenen..en ondertussen is het gebouw zelf gesloopt.
Bij deze gelegenheid wil ik nog eens erg graag alle medewerkers, Dj's, vrienden en klanten bedanken voor de fantastische jaren die we samen in deze unieke underground club beleefd hebben...for ever in my heart..Thank You All !
