Eerder deze week werden we uitgenodigd voor de uitreiking van de . Dit jaar was de gastheer die ons verwende met hun heerlijke lambieken.

Voor het vijfde jaar op rij - ieder jaar sinds we opende in 2021 - mogen we een prijs in ontvangst nemen voor één van de drie beste biercafé’s van het land. Dit jaar werd het de bronzen medaille, voorgegaan door .schellebelle (goud) & (zilver).

TOER DE GEUZE

During a lot of lambic breweries & geuze blenders open their doors to the public.

We’re visiting a lambic brewery with a very large selection of infused lambics, fruit beers & aged geuze ( ), the oldest family geuze blender, where the fourth generation recently took over ( ) & two new kids on the block: released their first Oude Geuze in 2023 & re-opened in 2022 after a closure of 50 years.

Dit jaar hebben MALZ & Elsen Kaasambacht de handen in elkaar geslagen om jullie thuis een bier- & kaaspairing aan te bieden.
De bierbox bevat 6 bieren die we gecombineerd hebben met heerlijke kazen uit de rijpingskelders in de Mechelsestraat. De bieren zijn zorgvuldig uitgekozen om de smaken van de kaas naar een hoger niveau te tillen & vice versa.

We wensen jullie een smakelijke proeverij & mooie feestdagen!

Janos De Baets ()

, co-founder & head brewer of Dok Brewing Co. in Gent, will talk about his fascination for an historical ale from his home town, Uytzet. In recent years, Janos dug into archives to uncover & reinvent this style.

He’s bringing some beer to taste as well. Make sure to book a ticket for the tasting, or let us know at the beginning of the talk.
