Best Whisky Best Of Wh**ky Donnan McBain keek van op “den hoge ajoen” uit op een mooie gemeente in het groene landschap. Hij gooide zijn “discount” geestrijke fles weg.

Hij was op zoek naar echte "uisge-beatha" ook gekend als “the water of life”. Zijn smaakpapillen wilden duidelijk nog meer. Hij had genoeg van supermarkt wh**ky, cognac, calvados, rum of armagnac. Off the shelf, huis en tuin wh**ky was niet zijn ding. Nee, hij wou echte, authentieke en eerlijke geestrijke dranken. Al snel kwam hij in contact met Wealy Works, een duidelijke gelijkgezinde non-confo

rmist. Na vele zwoele avonden hadden ze een selectie gemaakt die voldeed aan de volgende criteria:
- Authentiek
- Non-conformistisch
- Lekker

De volgende opdracht was om dit wereldkundig maken. Op “den hoge ajoen” kan je dan wel ver de polders inkijken maar
je bereikt wel nog niet iedere gelijkgezinde. De oplossing voor hun probleem was een online winkel. Al snel vonden ze enkele techneuten die alles netjes in elkaar boksten. Ze wilden de beste website met de beste wh**ky’s, rums, calvados-sen,
cognacs, armagnacs, exclusieve diversen en special for specials. Dit wordt gecombineerd met een eenvoudige en eenduidige website-, content en bestelmodule

Doorly's 12 Year Old Barbados Rum is proof that patience pays off. Distilled at the legendary Foursquare Distillery and matured for more than ten years, this rich rum has developed a character that's hard to rush — chewy toffee, to***co, and tropical fruit, all wrapped into one satisfying pour.

The Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask begins its life the traditional way — 14 years maturing in oak wh**ky casks. But it's what happens next that sets it apart.

Malt Master David Stewart filled American oak casks with his own selection of West Indian rums, and waited. Only when he judged the wood ready did the rum make way for The Balvenie's 14-year-old spirit, letting the cask do the rest.

The result: The Balvenie's signature smooth, honeyed character, married with toffee and a gentle hint of fruit, finishing warm and lingering.

An Dúlamán Irish Maritime Gin is crafted along the rugged Donegal coastline, using six locally foraged varieties of seaweed to capture something few gins ever attempt: the taste of the sea itself.

The result is savoury, aromatic, and quietly complex — classic juniper and bright citrus meet maritime salinity, herbal depth, and a distinct umami character drawn straight from the coast. Bottled at 43.2% ABV, it's bold without losing its balance, closing on a long, clean, mineral-fresh finish.

Twenty-four years. Two oaks. One remarkable Lowland single malt.

Introducing Auchentoshan 24 Year Old Noble Oak — a wh**ky that rewards patience, in every sense of the word. Triple distilled, as is tradition at Auchentoshan, then matured for over two decades in a marriage of American and French oak casks.

The result is a wh**ky of quiet confidence: American oak lends vanilla sweetness and soft caramel, while French oak brings refined tannins, spice, and structure. Bottled at 48% ABV for added depth, it opens with polished oak, honey, and dried apricot on the nose, unfolds into layers of toffee, citrus zest, and nutmeg on the palate, and closes with a long, dry, spice-laced finish.
