We're looking for a chef.
The Drifter is a tiki bar with soul, a loyal crowd, and a kitchen that's sitting idle on weekends. We want to change that.
We're renting out our kitchen space to an independent chef who wants to run their own bar bites concept, on their own terms, under their own name, with their own hustle.

What we offer:
🍹 A built-in audience that's already there, already drinking
🔪 A fully equipped kitchen
📍 One of Ghent's most loved bar settings

What we're looking for:
A self-employed chef (or someone in the process of getting there) with a clear concept, ambition, and the kind of food that works in our bar...

She lures you in with something familiar: the flush of ripe strawberry, the bright kiss of lime. Seductive. Disarming. You think you know what this is.
You don't.
The cocoabutter-washed Cointreau wraps around you like silk, smooth and dangerously easy to trust. Then, just as you settle in, the paprika rises. Slow. Deliberate. Followed by a whisper of black pepper that lingers long after you thought it was over.
Like Santanico herself, this drink is never what it first appears. Sweet on the surface, with something ancient and untamed beneath. The flash blend gives it a texture that feels almost alive: light, aerated, restless.
A Margarita? Yes. But one that has seen things. One that doesn't need to explain itself.
Drink carefully. She bites...

Twelve years ago, The Drifter opened its doors. Since then, we've poured thousands of drinks, hosted hundreds of nights, and built something we're genuinely proud of — together with you.
We wouldn't still be here without the people who believed in us when it wasn't easy. To everyone who donated: you kept the lights on and the ice cold, and we haven't forgotten that. When you walk in on Saturday, there's a glass of Holy Water waiting for you — on us. A clarified milk punch, clean and smooth, because you deserve a proper welcome.
We're celebrating the way we know best — with good drinks, good music, and good people.
