Wist je dat je op het Veerleplein kan zien als er een baby wordt geboren in een van de ziekenhuizen in Gent? Een paar jaar geleden kocht het stadsbestuur van Gent het kunstwerk 'Ai Nati Oggi' (wat 'Aan wie vandaag geboren is' betekent) van de kunstenaar Alberto Garutti. Het kunstwerk is geïntegreerd in de lantaarns van het Veerleplein. Elke keer als er een kindje wordt geboren in een ziekenhuis in Gent, knippert de verlichting langzaam. Op een grote steen op het plein wordt uitgelegd dat het knipperen geen storing is, maar een aankondiging van babynieuws.
