Na 7,5 jaar hier achter de bar te hebben gestaan, waarvan 2,5 jaar als trotse eigenaar sluiten wij helaas het hoofdstuk af.
Langs deze weg wens ik elke klant die langskwam om een biertje of cocktail te nuttigen te bedanken, alsook alle vrienden en familie die samen met mij geloofden in mijn visie!
Ik zeg geen vaarwel aan de cocktails maar ga even de tijd nemen om te herbronnen en zal zeker nog terug te zien zijn in andere bars waar ik jullie met veel plezier zal begeleiden naar de perfecte keuze voor jullie.

De Gentse Feesten staan voor de deur en wij hebben zin om onze voetjes nat te laten worden op de Vlasmarkt, dus zijn wij gesloten van 18-28 juli.
Kom ons gerust bezoeken aldaar en dan drinken we er samen eentje, of twee, of drie, maar zeker geen vier. (dat staat nogal onstabiel)
Terug open tijdens het na-tour criterium vanaf 19:00.

Not a typical café, not a typical bar.

The journey for Gregory in this place started on May 11 2012, when it was called Casa Romero and it was a loungy beer café. After seeing it miss the targeted public, he started to research other possibilities. Cleaning the place up, re-ordening the backbar and changing the menu a bit didn’t do the trick for him. So he started to research the upcoming trend after the well known Gin-hype, Cocktails. He began watching bartender videos and got the opportunity to participate in Diageo Bar Academy. After the last the wheels started turning. With a novice-knowledge, but especially the right people to contact and inspire him, he started experimenting and putting classic cocktails on the menu. Not an instant succes in Aalst, a city which was not all that familiar with the professional cocktail scene. But steadily the clientele grew and it became the meeting point for a nice evening out.

After running the bar for almost 5 years he felt it was time to take full control of the bar. Januari 1 2017 became his first day as a business-owner. The bar got a make-over a month later and it re-opened under the name: Bar Romarin. With the help of family, friends, and industry-colleagues we wanted to raise the bar to a new level. We raised the level of our premium selection which is reflected in some very exclusive bottles displayed in our backbar (which doesn’t mean those bottles aren’t there to be enjoyed in your glass).

Now our team consits of 2 passionate bartenders, each with their own techniques and specialties.
