Three whirlwind days in Champagne visiting our wonderful and distinct Champenois friends — a powerful reminder of why Champagne remains one of France’s most dynamic regions: constantly evolving, refining and innovating.
Highlights included the vibrant 2025 vins clairs at .miniere , the electric 2019 parcellaire range from ; the saline precision of Verzy plots; and a visit to stunning new winery in Écueil, where perpetual experimentation and infectious energy left us spinning.
We looked to the bright future at Champagne J-M Sélèque with a visit to their ambitious new co-plantation project of eight varieties in Les Bas Charmiers in Pierry, while impressed with two exciting new cuvées — his first Meunier bottling, Côtes au Vent, and the mind-bending La Brute No. 1.
In the Côte des Blancs, we revisited the pure, chalk-driven style of , the enhanced richness and profound drinkability shaped by Pierre Amillet , and the understated elegance of the latest releases from - la classe.
We finished in Merfy with , whose relentless work continues to elevate his remarkable terroirs.
Champagne never stands still. A heartfelt thank you to our Champenois friends for opening their cellars, their bottles, and inviting us along for the ride. Merci à tous!
