We created this page to share all things BEANS, from the coffee we roast through to the wonderful people who produce it, brew it and celebrate it with us!

Some of you may know this face from our flip side (sans beans account). Our OG landing page for how Criteria started, CC was built upon Craig’s vision for an education space that fosters communal roasting and knowledge sharing.

This week we launched our first SCA Q GRADE (Evolved) course. We’ve taken this opportunity to put some of our own team through this professional development process along side a lucky few students on their pathway to Q certification.

As a team, this is a huge accomplishment. Many hours (and years of teaching) have gone into this preparation and in 2026 we have big plans for an even more comprehensive education offering.

📣 INDIA - Geisha 📣 CM Process.
Riverdale Estate, 100g

A rare gem. We’ve never had an Indian Geisha, grown from seeds sourced within Panama (have you?), so when the opportunity presented itself to secure a limited amount of this green bean, we knew we had give this our full attention.

What revealed itself was a coffee of refined elegance that were very proud to be roasting (very soon).

What a perfect Melbourne day for an afternoon cafe stroll, first stop . Beautifully presented on every level. Luke and his team bring forward a menu of carefully curated coffees - the offering is both intriguing and comforting, for those who want to be guided through the selection process.
