Was a great week once again. Big thanks to all, coming to support live music, local talent and our venue.

Our intimate, cosy and cool - underground basement of sound is lit with fresh, funky vibes, an artistic and supportive, growing, loyal tribe, with an incredible amount of talent passing by - on any given night.

We thank all of our glorious friends and guests, for being part of the magic we're creating, and keeping it a safe and supportive space, in our new hub, for real people, with a common love of live music.

Our beloved Baby Grand has brought an instant new ambiance which has seen this speakeasy, live music venue - become THE Piano Room - Kings Cross has craved for nearly 15 years.

We are bringing back 'entertainment' to the Cross.

Why?

Because we deserve it.

Big ups to the legendary, Errol Renaud for swinging on by tonight - much loved, Sydney Reggae Royalty, who will perform for a second time with Caribbean Soul on Saturday 2nd of May - which we already know...will be an off the hook event.

And the beautiful, Ambre Hammond - a renowned concert pianist, educator, speaker, long-time friend & entertainer (off & on stage) who captivates audiences around the world with her extraordinary musicality and technical brilliance.

This is what we dealing with.

Deal with it.

Amita - LIVE AT SEAN & DOLLY’S.
Somewhere between theatre and fever dream…Amita doesn’t really “perform" - it unfolds.

This is dark cabaret with a pulse.
Stripped back, a little unhinged, and just elegant enough to pull you in before it does something unexpected.

Songs you half-remember.
Stories you weren’t ready for.
Moments that sit somewhere between beautiful and slightly dangerous.

If you like your live music tidy and predictable…stay home.
If you like it alive - this is your night.

Before that, have a listen to Eastside Radio the other day where Sean jumped in for a chat - talking upcoming shows, the chaos we call a weekly program, our friends at Miss Celie’s, and a few tracks from Sean's albums.

Skip to the last 8 minutes - that’s where it gets good.

Sean gives Dolly a plug that she’s decided is the highlight of the entire interview (objectively correct, of course).

The rest?
Well…enjoy him waffling on.
Thursday night. Basement level. Dark Cabaret.
Get your tickets now. Limited spots left.
Let it get strange.

Listen to Arts - Friday

TONIGHT - S.E.A.T. (Sydney Emerging Artists Tuesday)
The basement’s shifting again…and you’ll want to say you were here when it did.

A baby grand piano lands tonight.
Not next week. Not “soon.”
Tonight.

We found the spot for it - turns out it was staring at us the whole time. So we’re christening it the only way we know how… properly.

Doors from 6pm. Music from 7pm.
Two rooms. Two moods.
• The Music Room - lights down, stage set, listening sharp.
• The Piano Room - right by the bar, where the songs get a little closer and a little looser.

If you’re a player - piano, voice, something with soul - there are a couple of feature spots still floating.
Take one before someone braver does.

If you’re not - come drink, listen, and watch something form in real time.

New cocktails being tested.
New spritzes creeping toward existence.
Dolly behind the bar, stirring trouble and occasionally heckling with love.

No open mic chaos.
No background noise.
Just a room that listens and loves.
Come wet the baby’s head.
Come see what happens when a space grows another heartbeat overnight.

Sean & Dolly’s Basement.
Where Tuesday still means something.

Ssshhhhh! Don't tell Sean...but he has a Baby Grand arriving today! 😘

REGGAE RIDDIMS – LIVE IN THE BASEMENT.
Lock in May 2.

For over a decade, Reggae Monday packed out rooms across Sydney - a weekly session that brought together some of the best players, the right crowd, and a proper party that became part of the city’s rhythm. That energy’s been missing.
Until now.

We’re bringing that spirit back into the Cross - not as a throwback, but as a new chapter.

Live in the basement at Sean & Dolly’s, Errol H. Renaud & Caribbean Soul lead a full Caribbean session built on real roots and real musicianship.

Born in Trinidad & Tobago, Errol is a pioneer of Caribbean music across Australia, Asia and the Pacific, with performances spanning 25+ countries - including Cuba’s Festival del Caribe.
Now based in Sydney, he brings decades of experience and a sound that doesn’t imitate - it lives it.

Expect steel pan sounds, reggae sk**ks, and soca played live, the way it’s meant to be.
Rhythm, sweat, and a room that moves together.
Close crowd. Late night energy. One love. Proper Reggae.

When: Saturday, May 2.

TONIGHT - LIVE IN THE BASEMENT.
The band’s back where it belongs.

Sean Mackenzie on keys.
Keith Sullivan on drums.
John Maddox on bass.

Doors swing open from 6pm.
Live music from 8pm.
DJ DOLLY from midnight ‘til 2am.

Long weekend. Saturday night. No excuses.
Downstairs, we’re shaking things up -
Chuckleberry & Dolly pouring their latest madness from the
One Hit Wonders Signature Menu.
New cocktails. New trouble.

We’re in the mood to party.
You should be too.

Sean & Dolly’s Basement - 220 William St, Kings X. Gadigal.
3 minutes from train station.
Be there. Or hear about it later.

TONIGHT - THE BASEMENT CALLS.
Yesterday? Shut.
Today? We make up for it.

Rain on the pavement, music in the bones.
Don’t let a little weather scare you back to the couch - the basement’s warm, loud, and waiting.
Live music from 7pm.
DJ from midnight ‘til 2am.

And tonight…we stir a little trouble behind the bar.

CHUCKLEBERRY vs DOLLY K POPS:
A head-to-head, no-rules cocktail show-down/throw-down.
New concoctions. Questionable decisions.
Fresh pours from the dangerously clever "One Hit Wonders" Signature Menu.

Some of these drinks? Should probably be illegal.
Lucky for you - they’re not.

And yes…Dolly’s been banging on about her Spritzes again.
Blame some random Bali musician turned Uber driver turned accidental water salesman called LUKE…and the next thing you know - we’ve got sparkling on tap and she’s calling it a personality trait.

Come judge for yourself. Alcohol or water?
Easter’s gone underground tonight.
No chocolate eggs. Just strong drinks and better stories.

Sean & Dolly’s Basement - 220 William St, Kings X
Doors from 6pm til late.

Walk in dry.
Leave…debatable.

Some people get booked.
Some people get invited back.
And then there’s the rare few…who just become part of the furniture - in the best possible way.

Erik Stripparo is that.

From the first time he walked down those stairs, guitar in hand, it was obvious - he wasn’t just passing through. He fit.
Not forced. Not flashy for the sake of it. Just real music, played properly.

Weekend rock shows - loud, electric, full throttle.
Then Tuesday hits, and he flips the script…strips it back, leans into the room, and suddenly you’ve got a crowd hanging on every note.

That’s not luck. That’s craft.

He’s become part of the Sean & Dolly’s rhythm now -
the kind of artist you can call up, throw on stage, and trust the night will land exactly where it should.

Originals that actually say something.
Covers that don’t feel borrowed.
And a presence that doesn’t beg for attention…but gets it anyway.

No ego. No fluff.
Just a serious musician who knows how to read a room - and then take it somewhere better.

That’s why he’s one of ours.
And if you’ve been in the basement on the right night…
you already know.

Be sure to catch him regularly holding it down at Sean & Dolly’s - 220 William Street, Kings Cross.

Golden hour grooves → full-blown dancefloor chaos.
And when it should end? It doesn’t.

Her rule?
“I follow the vibe… and I don’t miss.”
And one thing’s certain - when it comes to a party, Dolly don’t f•*k around.
IYKYK.
