π’ Restrictions easing from 11:59pm 11 November 2021
Current restrictions are easing from 11:59pm Thursday, 11 November. Hereβs an overview of whatβs changing:
π· Face masks will no longer be required indoors, except in the following settings when they must be worn by any person aged 12 years or over:
β’ High risk facilities, including hospitals, aged care, correction and detention facilities
β’ On public transport
β’ In all indoor spaces at schools, early childhood education and care setting (including out of school hours care). Children in Years 7 to 12 are required to wear a face mask while in an indoor space at school. Children in Years 3 to 6 are also encouraged to wear a mask when indoors at school but this is at the discretion of the parent/ carer and student.
β’ By indoor front of house hospitality staff
β’ While inside the Canberra Airport terminal and during domestic flights in and out of Canberra.
π· The community is also strongly encouraged to continue to wear face masks during the following circumstances:
β’ Anytime a person has symptoms of COVID-19
β’ When in a public indoor setting and or in areas where physical distancing from people not known to you may not be possible (for example, customers in retail, business, hospitality and education settings)
β’ When in public indoor gatherings (for example in places of worship, at funerals, weddings or at a theatre)
β’ When in indoor places for personal services (for example at the hairdresser and in a nail salon).
ποΈ There will be no limit on numbers of visitors to households.
π§βπ€βπ§ There will be no limit on the number of people at informal outdoor gatherings.
π½οΈ No density limits apply to outdoor spaces within businesses.
πΈ Eating and drinking while standing will be permitted at licensed venues, cafes and restaurants and at food courts.
π Dancing will be permitted at nightclubs, along with eating and drinking while standing.

Gym class sizes and dance classes will now be based on density limits.
πΏ Cinemas, theatres and outdoor venues with fixed seating, including GIO Stadium, Manuka Oval and Exhibition Park in Canberra, increase to 100 per cent capacity.
