Our Story

Following in the footsteps of Wangaratta’s first brewery started by James Meldrum in 1852, Malt Shed continues the local brewing tradition – mixing it with a passion for all things malt.

Founded by locals Andrew Bett, Grant Jones & Mathew Saunders, Malt Shed is built on a collaboration of quality, consistency, community, and above all else, a passion for the craft of brewing.

Since opening day on July 7th 2017, Malt Shed has grown into a reliable locally brewed beer stop and a central hub for locals. offering a true taste of “Wang” – just how the locals like it.
