Keith and Lesley Miles purchased the Farmers Hotel in the early 1980s and became an important part of the Vacy community and the Paterson River Football Club.
During their time at the pub, they played a significant role in the development of the adjoining sports oval, including having the grounds levelled to create the playing fields we know today.
Today, the oval continues to be an important part of village life, used by hundreds of local children each week for cricket, soccer and school sport.
It was fantastic to recently commemorate Keith and Lesley’s contribution to Vacy with the unveiling of new signage and the official renaming of the grounds as the Keith and Lesley Miles Oval.
A fitting recognition of their contribution and a lasting legacy that will continue to benefit the Vacy community for generations to come.
