A massive congratulations to our Vice President on the Board of Directors at the Club Tony Ireland 🎉 He has been named PaddleNSW Coach of the Year for 2025/2026 🏆
Well done Tony and Congratulations again on this well deserved award from all of us at the ExServos!

🎉 A huge congratulations to Tony Ireland on being named PaddleNSW Coach of the Year for 2025/26! 🎉
When Tony isn’t at the practice, you’ll usually find him on the water at Burrill, coaching the talented MAKAI juniors and helping them achieve sporting excellence in sprint kayaking and beyond.

Tony leads the MAKAI Juniors program — a squad of just seven young paddlers who have achieved outstanding results across sprint, ocean racing and marathon disciplines, at state, national and international level.

🏆 MAKAI Junior Achievements:

Two paddlers competed at the 2025 ICF Canoe Ocean Racing World Championships, placing 9th U18 Women’s Single Ski, 23rd U18 Men’s Single Ski and 5th in the U18 Mixed Double Ski.
Three juniors qualified for the World Championships, with one winning selection and two placing second at Australian trials.
Two U18 athletes were selected for the Junior/U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Canada.
One U14 paddler qualified to race U16 at the Asia Pacific Sprint Championships in Rotorua.
At the 2026 PA Canoe Sprint National Championships, MAKAI won 5 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze, including the U18 K1 200m National Championship and W18 K2 title.
Strong performances across GP1, GP2, PNSW Sprint Series and State Championships, plus U16 and U18 medals at the 2026 PA Canoe Marathon Championships.
Three MAKAI juniors were selected for the NSW State Team, with one athlete maintaining an NSWIS scholarship for a third consecutive season.
Tony’s success goes far beyond medals and selections. His athlete-centred coaching builds discipline, confidence, resilience and belief, showing what young athletes from a regional club can achieve.
His dedication to developing the next generation of paddlers, both on and off the water, makes this recognition thoroughly deserved.

A massive congratulations to Lachlan Barry on being named a finalist in the 2026 Spirit of Kokoda Award!

This prestigious award recognises young leaders who have drawn on their Kokoda experience to inspire others, overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

We wish you the very best of luck Lachlan as you head into the final stage of the awards.

The ExServos are very proud long-term supporter of the Kokoda Youth Leadership Challenge and we take great pride in helping select the students from Ulladulla High that take part in this life-changing trek 👏🏆
