Thanks to for the can of Winter Harvest Ale with Kracenup fresh hop flowers.

A really nice clean ale, reasonable hop aroma, medium to high hop flavour, enough bitterness without overpower and a slightly dry finish with just a hint of bready malt in the mix. Well balanced, nicely made, easy drinking.

W**d control is an essential part of farm life. I've been chipping away at the African Box Thorn (Lycium ferocissimum) lately using the tried and trusted, albeit laborious, cut and paste method.

An opportunity to join the boxthron biocontrol project came along. So I took it.Will give me a break from crawling around very spikey plants.

"first" day of Summer. The forecast is top of 16°C and up to 10mm of rain. I have long thought that the seasons in Tassie follow the sun and that it isn't really Summer until the Summer Solstice on 22 December.

The hops are quite slow this year it has been very mild. Some warmer days forecast later this week should get things moving along.
