1918 Bistro & Grill Rich in heritage with an abundance of culture and local produce, 1918 Bistro & Grill is a gathering place celebrating the Barossa Valley’s finest.

The 1918 family are passionate about serving the freshest, seasonally inspired local cuisine. This is complimented by a wine list featuring back vintages of some of the Barossa Valleys most remarkable family owned and produced wines. On frosty winter evenings red gum logs still splutter in the open fireplaces and in the summer, there's temptation to linger on the shady wisteria-scented veranda or under the giant Norfolk pine. What you'll also find is a youthful passion and buzz, modern Australian tastes and flavours and a genuine willingness to please. We hope you enjoy being part of the ongoing story of 1918.

We get to call this our workplace. How lucky are we?

The weather is starting to come to the party, and our garden is looking like a very good place to spend a few hours.

Lunch in the fresh air, a glass of Barossa w**e and your favourite people around the table. Maybe another course because you’re comfortable and nobody is in a hurry.

You know that moment after a brilliant show when nobody is quite ready to call it a night?

We’ve got a table for that.

On Saturday 19 September, the Australian String Quartet will be joined by singer Parvyn Kaur Singh and multi-instrumentalist Josh Bennett at Peter Lehmann W**es.

Expect an evening of beautiful strings, tango and Parvyn’s blend of Indian melodies, soul, jazz and pop. Something a little different for your Saturday night, in a pretty special Barossa setting.

Then join us at 1918 for a two-course dinner and a chance to talk about everything you’ve just heard.

The concert begins at 6pm, with dinner from 7.45pm. Your booking includes both your concert ticket and dinner, so that’s your Saturday evening sorted.

Giddy up! Melbourne Cup at 1918 is officially open for bookings.

We’re once again teaming up with Janelle and Kristen Zerk from W**E Barossa Valley, so you know there will be plenty of flowing w**e, laughter and very good food.

Join us in the 1918 Garden on Tuesday 3 November for a four-course lunch with matching Z W**es all day long.

We’ll have the race live on screen, sweeps, best dressed prizes and live music to keep the afternoon going. You bring the outfit and the friends who make a day of it.

$149 per person, including four courses and matching w**es.

The staff didn’t want us to share this after they got a taste. But we’re not going to gatekeep it from you.

Snapper in fennel and pistachio sauce, served with polpette di pane. That’s Italian bread balls, ready to soak up that sauce.

We can see why they wanted to keep it to themselves. A little selfish? Yes. Understandable? Also yes.

We’d pair it with a glass of Tomfoolery ‘Fox Whistle’ Pinot Gris. All that’s missing is you.
