It’s official! Chris Hemsworth joins Archie Rose as co-owner to take Australian wh**ky to the world 🥃

Since 2014, our approach has been to create whiskies, gins and other spirits shaped by Australian nature at our distillery in Sydney. We’re beyond proud and excited to announce that Chris Hemsworth has now officially joined founder Will Edwards as a co-owner in the business to take our award-winning Australian grown and made spirits to the world.

In the words of Chris: “I’ve been a fan of Archie Rose for a long time. Wherever I am in the world, tasting an Archie Rose wh**ky immediately transports me right back home, to that
feeling of sitting around a campfire in the Australian bush with my mates. Their ethos of only using Australian grown malts to produce flavour packed whiskies at their Sydney distillery is truly awesome. They’re a brilliant example of what Australia does best, and I can’t wait to share that with the world.”

Archie Rose remains an independent, Australian-owned business—run by Will, with all spirits produced at our Sydney distillery by Master Distiller Dave Withers alongside our 90 strong team. The Archie Rose Bar in Rosebery, Sydney will also remain our brand home and cellar door.

Later this year we’ll be rolling out a range of new products created together with Chris that we can’t wait to share with you.

We're incredibly proud to share this milestone with our community, and join a growing movement of companies using business as a force for good.

This certification isn’t a finish line; it’s our baseline. We remain committed to sourcing locally and ethically, to telling the story of the growers, and to looking after our people and the environment as we continue to push the boundaries of sustainable distilling.

Last week, we transformed the historic National School of Arts in Sydney into an immersive, multi-sensory world to celebrate the release of our Triple Smoked Single Malt Wh**ky. 

Guests were guided through a curated, deep-dive experience into the unconventional architecture of our triple-smoking process. From the rich, nostalgic aromas of native stringybark timber filling the air to an exclusive tasting that unlocked the complex layers of smoked charcuterie and bonfire cinders, every sense was engaged to challenge the boundaries of what Australian wh**ky can be.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to witness the launch of one of the smokiest whiskies ever created.

A modern, Australian reimagining of a 1937 classic. Originally published in The Cafe Royale Cocktail Book by W. J. Tarling, we’ve complimented The Avenue’s rich heritage with a nuanced tweak incorporating Archie Rose Lavender Cask Single Malt Wh**ky.
