Originally opened and operated in Wellington, NZ, Valve gave birth to bands such as Shihad, The Black Seeds, Trinity Roots, The Upbeats, Fur Patrol, Akaname; and had the pleasure of hosting Hatebreed, Throwdown, Darkest Hour, Pungent Stench, and thousands of other phenomenal live acts over a decade. Now open in Sydney, Valve Bar & Venue offers the best PA, lighting, art and atmosphere of any comparably sized venue - A music embracing attitude in the only venue of its kind unspoilt by gaming/ pokie palace presence - A home for unpretentious, non-conformist, non-superficial art. Dear Friends-

I've spent the last several months focused on the future of Valve Bar and Venue in Sydney. You so had huge love and support when we turned off the lights at the Agincourt. I know you're still waiting for the next gig post to go live.

For 21 years, Valve and the awesome community around it have been the pulse of my life. But I've realised right now my heart is with my family. So I've decided its time to pass the drum sticks and let someone else keep the pulse going.

Valve is looking for a suitable legend to carry the name, fame, and future. The brand, all equipment, goodwill, contacts, ongoing enquiries, web and social is on offer and will include assistance with setting up new premises. Expressions of interest should be sent to [email protected].
