Polyglot Club Sydney

Polyglot Club Sydney Learn or practise languages and meet people from all around the world... for free! We are a non-profit organization with 300,000 members around the world.

Polyglot Club Sydney is one of numerous children of the Polyglot Club organisation founded in Paris in 2003. Our aim is to create and promote opportunities for linguistic and cultural exchange by organizing friendly gatherings for people to share a bit of their language and culture - all done over cheap drinks! If you want to learn a new language and exchange with native speakers to improve your l

anguage skills, if you are a student, an employee of an international company, a world-traveller or simply eager to discover new cultures, you are at the right place! This initiative received the European Union Language Label Award in 2007. Polyglot Sydney is a volunteer run group, the cost is free and no one receives any commissions or financial advantage from the organisation of this meeting.

Polyglot Sydney is going into hibernation.

Hi everyone, it's a little sad but the organisers have been busy of late and we've had trouble finding the right hosts for this event.

As a result, the meetings have been disorganised and the turnout has dwindled. As a result our reputation as a weekly meet up has suffered somewhat.

The venue also hasn't been a great one though it's gradually become that over the years.

So we're going to regroup and work out who can re-take the meeting and turn it around.

Polyglot is volunteer run in the spirit of sharing and the success of it has been largely due to the efforts of volunteers.

We won't ever make it a paid event as a financial transaction will muddy the intentions of those involved.

If you're interested in helping out, please drop us a message.

When someone asks you where you're from … do you sometimes not know how to answer? Writer Taiye Selasi speaks on behalf of "multi-local" people, who feel at home in the town where they grew up, the city they live now and maybe another place or two. "How can I come from a country?" she asks. "How can…

Hi guys - to those who "borrowed" my flag pegs. Can you please return them?

It's just that I already pay for the normal pegs out of my own pocket and these are kind of hard to get and pricey. So please be nice and ask before you help yourselves to pegs and pens etc. (God knows I've lost enough pens to pen pinchers!)
