Dicky Beach Surf Club is uniquely set behind the dunes with ocean views and an Australian native beach bush setting situated just North East of Caloundra's CBD on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Why not come in and be wowed by the delicious meals served in the Wreck Restaurant, where you can

The SS Dicky may no longer sit above the tide, but its legacy made Dicky Beach what it is today and we’re the only beach in Caloundra with a wreck to call our own, making the others a little jealous! πŸ˜‰

Built in 1883, this β€œScrew Schooner” served as a coastal trader across Australia. On her final voyage from Rockhampton to Brisbane in 1893, she met her fate on our shores β€” and gave our beach its iconic name. πŸŒ…

While most of the wreck was relocated in 2015, parts still rest beneath the tide, occasionally peeking out at the lowest tides πŸ•°οΈ. Here at Dicky Beach Surf Club, we carry that history forward in every corner β€” especially at The Wreck Restaurant, where you can enjoy delicious meals 🍽️, sip something cold 🍹, and soak up the stories that shaped our community.

A symbol of history, teamwork, and service to our coastline. πŸ’›πŸ’š Have you had a chance to see our new statue?

The Supporters Club is proud to have gifted this Lifeguard statue to Dicky Beach Surf Life Saving Club , honouring the generations of lifesavers who have protected our beaches. 🌊

The statue pays tribute to the early days of surf rescue, when the reel and line were essential lifesaving tools. In the early 1900s, lifesavers worked as a coordinated teamβ€”deploying the reel through the surf, reaching swimmers in distress, and guiding them safely back to shore.β˜€οΈ

This method relied on precision, strength, and absolute trust between patrol members. While equipment has evolved, that same spirit of teamwork and dedication continues to define Surf Life Saving today.

A lasting reminder of where it all began, and the community that continues to support it. πŸ’›πŸ’š
