Landlord turned power off my fridges and freezers, all the food (10k worth) has gone off.
Even though I’m paying the power bill and own the stock.

All this good was going to OzHarvest for the needy, sadly now in the bin thanks to a vindictive landlord doing this on purpose.

It is with great sadness that I announce the closing of Bistro Felix Wine Bar after 16 years.

Professional engineers engaged by the business advise me that the roof is unsafe and not water tight. As a result, I took the difficult decision to close as I do not believe that we could provide the type of environment I consider my staff and patrons deserve.

I wish to state that all rent properly owing has been paid.

We have had some of the most amazing loyal, customers and staff over all these years, life-long connections that mean the world to me.

Thank you to our many suppliers of food and drink.

I couldn’t have done it without all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you to my parents Helen & Tony for their love and ongoing support.

Not sure where to from here, I’ll be back with a new offering at some stage. The restaurant has been a major part of my identity for so long I feel lost without it..

Time to regroup and hopefully on to new endeavours in due course.

I will delay my media statement about the closing of Bistro Felix until next week.
In the meantime, I will say that all rent properly owing for the business has been paid, and I categorically deny any suggestion to the contrary.
In my view, and the view of professional engineers engaged by the restaurant, the roof is unsafe and not water-tight.
The business has an obligation to staff and clients to ensure a safe environment and I do not consider that can be provided that under the current conditions.
I will make a further statement at the appropriate time.

Unfortunately my business remains closed as the roof of the premises which we lease remains in a problematic state requiring professional repairs....

From a safety point of you I’m just not prepared to put my customers and staff in a unsafe environment.

Also with any rain events we will end up closed again, causing further damage and upset to our loyal customers. The building continues to leak in many locations.

We are doing our best as tenants to ensure the necessary professional repairs to the roof be done as soon as possible, but there is only so much we can do as we only lease the premises...

This is deeply upsetting, has caused incredible sadness and damage to a business in its 16th year of operation.

I hope to give you all better news soon.

Dear customers,

We are sad to announce that we will be closed for another two weeks.

We're working through a major issue with our roof, landlord and insurance.

We're forced to take the decision to remain closed for the next fortnight as we're working hard to overcome these hurdles. Any further changes will be communicated via email / social media platforms.

Established in 1979 the family owned and operated winery La Crema focuses on cool climate appellations in California. Aromas of cherry, rhubarb, and beets are followed by flavours of red plum, cranberry, and raspberry. The vintage presents distinct minerality, juicy acidity, and integrated notes of barrel spice. Exceptionally smooth tannins with excellent power right through to the long silky finish. It’s certainly one of our top recommendations 🍷

We’re trying our best to repair the damages caused by the storm. We are also working on bringing you exciting new offers when we open.

The recent storm coupled with Covid-19 lockdowns have affected several businesses around WA, some more than others.

Whilst battling the repercussions of a state wide lockdown amidst a global pandemic, we have now been subjected to property damage caused due to heavy rains. (See the comment below for videos)

At this stage, we’re closed until Wednesday. Any changes will be communicated via our social platforms.
