HOW TO JUDGE WHAT YOU SHOULD PAY TO A DJ. Always ask for contact to check who you hire. Don't get Ripped Off!

FREE – $200 Typically a beginning DJ, has basic DJ equipment and Sound Equipment, most likely a hobbyist, not normally booked for mobile gigs or nightclubs, but does privates, but has very little understanding of mixing ability. They will neither have Insurance, Business ABN and No Referees/References

$300 – $500 - More experience than the beginners, he or she will have own sound and lighting equipment, back up DJ equipment, Never worked for a part time residency nightclub but do private club/event functions, but does regular mobile parties. They might have ABN or Insurance, Might not have Referees or References but if you worked for Nightclub, you should have Referees or References of work. Should be Invoicing.

$650 – $2,500 These are the Most experienced, professional DJ. He or She will give you a rate to your budget on what kind of experience you want for your event. They are usually Part-time DJs who are paid by main city Nightclubs for over 3 years, They have done other Contracted DJ work with other organization. They will have references and referees when they work for nightclubs and they will invoice you too. They also have ABN and Insurance. THESE ARE QUALITY DJs you should seek to Hire.

As the New Lock Out Laws is Approaching July 1st in Queensland, the entertainment business will be going through major changes as many venues will be subject to close early or close their doors permanently. There will be loss of employment and many entertainers will be looking for new residency venues. However, as these issues are to come about soon, AFRO STAR will be on the search for a new club residency to bring the best of Afrobeatz every weekend. AFRO STAR will be taking interest in co-promoting to give Brisbane Africa the best experience .
