Spring on a plate! 🌿☀️

This gorgeous combination of creamy Vannella burrata, fresh figs, spring vegetables and sweet lemon is one of the stars of this week's $59pp Spring Mid-Week Special.

And there's plenty more to tempt you! Think ricotta gnudi with Yamba prawns, roast lamb rump with caponata, and a couple of rather delicious desserts to finish.

Three courses of beautiful seasonal food, for sharing, and all for just $59 per person.

Duane’s been back in the cellar… 🍷

This week’s Cellar Raid traverses home soil, France and Italy - with something particularly special pulled out to celebrate BQS’s recent nod at the Australian W**e List of the Year Awards.

2016 Domaine Thibert ‘Les Ménétrières’ Pouilly-Fuissé.

Just 512 bottles of this remarkable Chardonnay were produced from the landmark 2016 vintage. Somehow, two of them have found their way to Sawtell.

And because this is Cellar Raid, we’re not hiding them away - we’re pouring them by the glass.

Alongside it this week:
🇦🇺 2020 Robert Oatley Signature Series Riesling - Great Southern, WA
🇮🇹 2018 Kalà Primitivo Rosso - Salento, Puglia
🇫🇷 2016 Domaine Thibert ‘Les Ménétrières’ Pouilly-Fuissé - Burgundy

The Mid-Week Special is sticking around! 🙌

What started as a winter special, then snuck its way through our anniversary month, is now officially heading into spring.

Our $59pp Spring Mid-Week Special will continue every Wednesday & Thursday throughout October and November, with Mitch putting together a fresh sharing menu each week.

And we couldn't think of a better way to kick off spring than with the return of those Woolgoolga tomatoes. 🍅

Our local grower made us wait until they were properly ready — juicy, sweet and luscious — and after being voted one of your absolute BQS favourites, they're finally back where they belong.

Well, this was a rather lovely bit of news to wake up to… 🍷🍷

BQS has been awarded Two Glasses in Australia’s W**e List of the Year Awards 2026.

When we took over BQS a year ago, one of the things Duane and I really wanted to create was a w**e list that was interesting without being intimidating - great bottles from near and far, plenty to discover, and always something we’d genuinely like to drink ourselves.

So to have our w**e list recognised amongst the best in Australia feels pretty special.

A huge nod to Duane, who does an extraordinary amount of work behind the scenes finding, tasting and curating the w**es that end up on our list.

And, of course, thanks to all of you who keep helping us empty the bottles. That part is important too. 😁🍷

Two Glasses. We’ll happily raise one (or two) to that. 🥂
