☀️ Special Event Update ☀️

Due to the recent wet weather and forecast, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our Family Fun Day originally scheduled for Sunday 31st May.

We’re incredibly disappointed as it’s one of our favourite events of the year, but the good news is we’ve locked in a new date for what we hope will be a beautiful sunny Spring day — Sunday 20th September! 🌼

Thank you for your understanding and we can’t wait to celebrate with you then!

**National Reconciliation Week – 27 May–3 June 2026**

A time to reflect on our shared histories, cultures and achievements, while continuing to learn, listen and take action towards a more united future.

This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility — and that meaningful change happens when we all step forward together.

We’re proud to show our support by adapting and displaying the official 2026 artwork by renowned Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey across Societie Group, respectfully incorporating our branding while honouring the meaning and spirit of the original piece.

It was amazing to see our team and wider community challenge themselves, support one another and cross that finish line with plenty of determination. Events like this are a great reminder of how strong, motivating and inspiring our local community truly is 💙

Standing together through Clubs Say No to Domestic Violence 💜
 
Year after year, Ramsgate RSL is proud to wear orange and stand alongside our community in support of the annual Bayside Council Say No to Domestic Violence Walk in November. 

These walks are more than just a community event. They help raise awareness, start important conversations, and show support for those impacted by domestic and family violence.

By walking together, we continue to stand for respect, safety and meaningful change within our community. 🧡

Standing together through Clubs Say No to Domestic Violence 💜

That’s why our long-standing partnership with Bayside Women’s Shelter is so important.

Right here, close to home, they provide safe accommodation and life-changing support for women and children escaping domestic and family violence.

The reality is confronting — 1 in 6 women experience violence, 50,000 women are homeless each night, and 60% of those seeking shelter are turned away due to demand.

At Ramsgate RSL, we’re proud to have supported this incredible local charity for many years with initiatives such as our yearly Giving Tree Project which collects and donates Christmas presents for those who may struggle to experience the joy of the season.

Across all Societie Group venues, our team is proudly supporting the ClubsNSW Say No to Domestic Violence – Purple Friday initiative as part of our Domestic Violence Action Plan.

Our staff will be wearing purple pins throughout May, as a visible promise to stand for respect, to create safe spaces, and to support those who may be doing it tough.

At Ramsgate RSL, our team is also coming together through a powerful visual display, with each staff member adding a signed purple hand as their personal pledge, forming one united message of support.

Because domestic and family violence isn’t always seen, but it is felt — and it impacts 1 in 4 people.

For us, this is about more than awareness. It’s about showing up for our community, starting conversations, and making sure everyone who walks through our doors feels safe, supported, and never alone 💜

Yesterday, our team travelled down to Wollongong to volunteer with Escabags Australia, helping pack 184 ‘Escape Bags’ for individuals and families escaping domestic and family abuse 💛

Each bag is filled with essential items, but more than that, it represents comfort, dignity and hope during one of the most difficult times in someone’s life.

What makes this so special is being involved from the moment they’re packed to the moment they’re needed. From packing these bags in the warehouse, to having Escabags available right here at our club reception for anyone in need — always there, ready and accessible, no questions asked. It’s a quiet but powerful reminder that support is always within reach.

We’re incredibly proud of our team for being part of something so meaningful, and grateful to play even a small role in helping those taking their first steps toward safety.

Soldier On Update – Nearly There! 🥾

Our Soldier On team is powering through the final stretch of their incredible journey. As of right now, they’re up to the third day of walking, and by the end of today they will have conquered 8 out of the 10 peaks, covering an amazing 57km so far.

It’s been a tough challenge, but the team has done a truly tremendous job pushing through every step of the way. Their dedication, resilience and team spirit have been nothing short of inspiring.

Tomorrow marks their final day, bringing this incredible journey to a close. We can’t wait to welcome them home and hear all about the adventure, the challenges and the memories they’ve made along the way.
