Experience RUSTY PICKUPS live at the Cardigan Bar tomorrow, Friday 8 May from 7.30pm 🔥
South East Queensland’s Rusty Pickups came out swinging in 2019, just in time to get shut down with the rest of the world. From the ashes of abandoned face masks, they solidified the line-up, touring extensively throughout Queensland and New South Wales, and delighting festival crowds all up and down the east coast.
The down-home classic country-folk sound is always a crowd favourite, with splashes of riverboat keys, melodic banjo, rolling bass, and the charm of the acoustic guitar marrying with warm classic storytelling and vocals.
Built around the engine of Cookie and Ayden’s big-bodied acoustic and double bass, Lee’s clawhammer banjo and the meandering keys (both vertical and horizontal) of Waylon Katz, expect tales of family, murder ballads, and the desperation of lost love, but with a familiarity that makes the first show feel like the fifth, and the fans feel like family.
