FROM SIDELINES TO KERBSIDE

Between footy, hockey, early starts, late finishes, muddy shoes, chilly sidelines + approximately 700 trips to various sporting grounds, we’re officially tapping out of winter sport.

Geelong are out. Collingwood are out. And the kids local footy + hockey teams are also done for the season.
We’re calling it. Enough sport.

The upside? Spring has turned up properly. 🌞

The weather is looking bloody beautiful, which means vibrant kerbside dining is back in business. Cold drinks, good food, sunshine + watching the world go by on Main Street. Hard to argue with that.

A quick courtyard PSA: the courtyard has officially retired from regular restaurant dining this year. Kerbside is where it’s at for outdoor tables, with the courtyard popping up for the odd function when required.

Also, Little g. coffee window is BACK this weekend. ☕️
Katie + Erica are both back behind the coffee machine, and we can officially confirm there are no further interruptions on the horizon. Famous last words, perhaps, but we’re feeling confident.

As for Grace. this weekend, we’ve only got a few bar stools left tonight + Saturday night, so clearly everyone else has also decided they’re done with sport and ready for wine.

AROUND TOWN
Our mates at Hopetoun Grove are hosting 'Gather at the Grove' tomorrow, amongst the olive trees. Details + all the good stuff are over on their socials.

Spring is here. The sporting calendar can fend for itself.

DADS. WE LOVE ’EM. MOST DAYS. 😂

A special shoutout to the dads this Father’s Day. The ones who fix things that weren’t broken, and make jokes that aren't funny.

Our own restaurant dad, Matthieu, is father to three, the only bloke currently working at Grace., and spends most of his days surrounded by women who are very happy to tell him when he’s wrong.

He remains undeterred. The dad jokes continue. Relentlessly. We have asked him to stop. He simply cannot.

We’ve still got splashes of availability across the weekend, including a few tables for Sunday lunch. So if Dad has been dropping hints, consider this your sign.

The big news, however, is that Little g. coffee window is taking Saturday off. We’re heading out to watch the kids final home & away round of hockey. Go United! ❤️🖤💛 🏑

Little g. will be back Sunday morning (for the dads), 9am–12pm, with Sixpence Coffee, pastries and all the usual weekend goodness.

Open from 5pm.

On the third Tuesday of every month, we throw open the doors for a locals’ night done our way.

Tomorrow night.

Menu released a very respectable 23 hours before service, which by Grace standards is practically advance notice. The last 12 hours have involved an Olympic-level game of Tetris with the dining room, but we’ve managed to squeeze out a few tables between 5pm–5.30pm. From 7pm onwards, we’re completely full.

As for the theme… your guess is as good as ours. There’s some French, some Italian, some fried things, some hummus… and honestly, a fair bit of “Erica and Matt are going on holiday after this chaotic night and we need to clean out the fridge.” So, no real theme. Just good food, good produce and whatever survived the pre-holiday cull. Menu below. See you tomorrow.

✨ 𝙉𝙀𝙒 𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙐 𝙒𝙀𝙀𝙆 ✨

August starts tomorrow...our new menu just couldn't wait.

After a bit of second-guessing and a few last-minute changes, it was officially finalised somewhere between the MCG and Rutherglen at approximately 2am this morning. As all well-organised menus are.

So from tonight until the end of September you'll find a few new favourites on the list.

The Duck's Nuts have made their return, the chicken agnolotti has scored a generous shave of Fighting Gully Road truffle and Markwood Mushrooms maitake, the fish dish is worth the trip on its own, the hanger steak isn't here to make friends, and the ricotta pannacotta is reason enough to save room.

Over at Little g. coffee window the rhubarb Danish is this week's flavour, and we'd suggest not leaving that too late either.

Looking ahead, next weekend kicks off the Winemakers of Rutherglen 'Dark Side of Wine' festival across Rutherglen. If you're planning a weekend in wine country, now's the time to book your table.

RIGHT. BACK TO WORK. 🍷

After taking the restaurant on tour last weekend, we're back where we belong... in Rutherglen.

Turns out packing up an entire restaurant, feeding a room full of people somewhere else, then bringing it all home again is quite the experience. We'd do it again, we just need 365 days to recover.

Also... thank you. 🥹

We were completely blown away by all the messages, comments and well wishes for our 5th birthday this week. It's been a wild five years.

NOT MUCH GOING ON 🙃

If this is what five looks like... we'll take it. It is shaping up to be one we'll remember.

🚐 Saturday night — we're taking Grace. on the road for the very first time with our sold-out dinner at Silverwoods Resort Yarrawonga

We're pretty excited that it's not just Grace. making the trip either. James & Co. Wines are joining us, with Patrick John Russell providing the tunes, so it's become a little slice of Rutherglen on tour. Turns out we're not the only ones leaving home.

☕ Little g. coffee window is open as usual this weekend, Saturday + Sunday, 9am–12pm, with Sixpence Coffee + pastries and all the usual goodness.

🍽️ Tuesday's Neighbourhood Night has officially become a record breaker. Early, middle and late sittings are all completely booked out. Apparently not releasing the menu is still a winning strategy.

🎂 Then on Wednesday, Grace. officially turns five 🎉
It's a pretty special milestone, but we'll save the reminiscing for another day.
