Say hello 👋to Nigel - our Windy Head Chef.
Nigel has spent an incredible 41 years in hospitality, starting out at the old Oberoi Hotel in North Adelaide before completing his pre-vocational cookery training at Regency and apprenticeship at the Adelaide Hilton.
From there, he stepped into a Head Chef role at a silver service seafood restaurant and has since worked across just about every corner of the industry - silver service dining, hotels, large functions and everything in between.
When asked about his greatest achievement, Nigel reckons simply surviving hospitality through the late 80s and 90s deserves a trophy in itself. 😅
As for favourites on our menu? Don’t expect any bias from him.
Outside the kitchen, Nigel’s been married for more than 25 years, has two kids, enjoys motorsport events, concerts and music festivals… and after four decades in hospo, we’re guessing a quiet sit down every now and then too.
Next time you’re enjoying a meal at the Windy, there’s a very good chance Nigel’s the one leading the charge behind the scenes. 🍻
