We would like to wish Conor and the team at Ulverstone Bicycles all the best as the store wraps up trade and the team move onto new adventures

Ulverstone Bicycles and Conor have been firm supporters of the Preston Community Centre for years now, with multiple donations made to support us, including (but not limited to)

- lighting in the main social area of the building
- a fresh roadside sign
- our new Joker Jackpot including cabinet and prize money
- multiple bike donations to our annual men’s mental heath night
- major sponsor and organiser for our charity Buggy event raising money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter
- countless volunteer hours (spread across Conor’s family)

So get on down to Ulverstone Bicycles and show your support to the team. Massive discounts on stock (what’s left)

And to Conor and the team, we wish you all the very best in your next chapter and thankyou from the team here at the Preston Community Centre.

JOHNSON, Amby Athol - Better known as Tas, Tassie, or to many just Uncle Tas.

On behalf of the Motton Preston Football Club and the Preston Community Centre (Tas was a life member of both) Our thoughts and condolences go out to all his extended family and friends.

Tas with others was a big part of the Preston and North Motton football clubs’ amalgamation way back in 1967.

As a founding committee member of both PCC and MPFC, Tas was instrumental in ensuring both clubs are in the strong position they are in today.

In his playing days he was known as a tough aggressive inside midfielder, many ex-players still talk about him with a smile, as he played into his 50s with a total around 600 games. Tas played with and taught many of the young talent from the communities of Preston and North Motton and anyone who would listen.

Basically, the great man was a football and cricket legend with many centuries and best and fairest’s along the way.

The football and cricket accolades of Tas are incredible and just too many to list, Premierships for Preston in cricket, Preston and Motton Preston in Football to watch him play was an honour.

Memories of his cheekiness and humour on and off the field were priceless. He was a funny bu**er, always after a laugh even if it was at your expense.

Tassie Johnson all our clubs are indebted to your incredible loyalty and resilience. We also thank your beautiful family, Merle, Terry, Micheal, Wayne and Gaye, along with their families, they all played a big part in your amazing career.

Rest In Peace Tas ❤️💙
