Enter down the flame lit path from Macrossan Street to find the perfect hidden gem for lunch, dinner, tapas or a mouth-watering cocktail. The restaurant seats up to 120 guests with

both indoor sections and outdoor (under cover) dining decks surrounded by lush tropical gardens and tranquil flames. The cuisine is Modern Australian, with an asian twist, encapsulating our modern tropical lifestyle. Our Executive Chef sources fresh, seasonal produce to prepare innovative and enticing dishes, which reflect contemporary trends in Australasian cooking. Watergate also has a modern well appointed bar and extensive lounge area, ideal for cocktails at sunset, or tapas and a bottle of wineโ€ฆ The perfect way to unwind after a busy week or eventful day. The lounge is a great place to meet friends, enjoy pre-dinner drinks or indulge in desserts and coffee to finish off your evening. OPEN 7 DAYS:

Yesterday, we lost a very dear friend โ€” and Port Douglas lost one of its true legends. ๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿค๐Ÿชฝ

Michael Gabour was a true gentleman, a Port Douglas icon, a damn right legend, and one of the most interesting people weโ€™ve ever had the privilege of knowing.

He lived a thousand lives in one lifetime. Every conversation came with a story, an adventure, a lesson, or a laugh. He had a way of captivating a room without ever trying, and always left you richer for having spent time with him.

Michael was a familiar face at Watergate, someone who brought warmth, character and conversation through our doors time and time again. He wasnโ€™t just a guest, he was a treasured friend who was more like family, and someone we loved dearly. ๐Ÿ’“

Fly high on that Harley-Davidson in the sky, Michael. ๐Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿชฝ We hope the road is endless, the stories are flowing, and the wind is always in your hair.

You will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever remembered. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
