ANZAC DAY 2026

Another ANZAC Day has come and gone.

What a fabulous day we all had, commemorating the 1915 Gallipoli landing and recognising all who served in subsequent wars, peacekeeping operations and acknowledgment of many community groups.

Thank you to Barunga West Council for your assistance in the event, Fisherman Bay Progress Association for the hearty breakfast and Rum donation by Port Broughton Hotel, for the Gunfire breakfast after the Dawn Service.

Many thanks to the wonderful ladies who provided a magnificent lunch after the 11.00am March and Service and the many volunteers who consistently give their time so freely.

Thank you to the guys from Craneworx who ran a very spirited and entertaining game of Traditional Two-up, which was definitely one of the highlights of the day.

Mark your calendars now for another fantastic ANZAC Day in 2027, and we hope to see you all back again for 2027.

Thank you again to everyone that attended, participated and helped make this 2026 ANZAC Day so special.

🌺 Port Broughton Poppy Fields now on display 🌺

Council staff were hard at work this morning installing the beautiful Poppy Fields, on display until Thursday 30 April. A powerful tribute to those who served, reflecting the deep respect within our community.

We’re also excited to soon unveil a new horse sculpture, incorporating purple poppies to honour the animals who served.

Take a moment to visit, reflect, and pay your respects, and don’t forget to share your photos in the comments 📸

ANZAC Day Services:
