Finn Rees is a Tasmanian born, London based pianist, composer and producer who has built up an eclectic reputation for his music work both in ‘Australia’ and internationally over the last decade. He has a knack for capturing emotions and intriguing minds, whatever medium he chooses and can be seen performing and collaborating in some of the most forward thinking projects such as 30/70, Close Counters, Allysha Joy, Chip Wickham, Audrey Powne and more.
Drawn to jazz from a young age his influences come from some of the most inventive jazz artists such as Alice Coletrane, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea or Brazilian legends Arthur Verocai or Azymuth. His debut record ‘Dawn Is A Melody’ came out on tastemaker label Mr Bongo records in 2024 with a massive positive response amongst jazz lovers. It’s been featured as Jazz Album of the week on FIP Radio France, had weekly rotation on JazzFM UK, support from Worldwide FM, BBC London with Robert Elms as well as 4 stars from MOJO magazine, as well as landed in many taste makers albums of the year.
This much anticipated venture into his solo work explores a new synergy between modal and spiritual jazz, psychedelic soul, lush orchestral arrangements and heartfelt piano and features some of Melbourne’s finest musicians. Finn recently sold out his headline show at Ronnies Scotts in London as well as Love Supreme Festival in the UK and has just announced a run of shows down-under in summer 2026.
