Travel Diaries – Mexico 🇲🇽 Week Dos

Ben’s next stop was Mérida, the capital of Yucatán, where the food feels completely different to the rest of Mexico. Rich in Mayan influence, every dish tells a different story.

One standout from the streets was a fiery local soup packed with pork stomach and tripe, loaded up with seriously hot habaneros. Not exactly your everyday lunch, but that’s the whole point of the trip. Trying new flavours, eating what the locals eat and getting out of the comfort zone.

Two days in Mérida meant plenty of wandering too. Colourful streets, old Spanish and French architecture and another reminder that every part of Mexico has its own personality.
