It’s hard to put into words what Pep’s has meant to us.
Tarsh and I started Pep’s when Covid was still just a murmur in another world. With a business partner out, the world in turmoil and three young kids at home, we thought, “F**k it. We’re already stuffed, so let’s keep going!”
We had a big idea and absolutely no idea what it would become.
What started as a little w**e bar became so much more.
It became part of our family, part of our community and a place filled with some of the best memories of our lives. Long lunches, late nights, celebrations, friendships, plenty of w**e, plenty of laughs and so many wonderful people who walked through the doors over the years.
Most importantly, Pep’s became what it is because of the people around us.
To everyone who backed us from the beginning, supported us, worked with us, drank with us, celebrated with us and kept coming back, thank you.
Our original Friends of Pep’s to our weekly regulars, to the random travellers who somehow found us (including a long-lost cousin from Ireland who searched us out!), thank you.
To most of our beautiful staff along the way, we love you. You know who you are, and you know what you mean to us. We would never have made it six years without you.
And to you, our people, our customers, our friends, our Peps, thank you.
For us, it feels incredibly strange to be saying goodbye to something that has been such a huge part of our lives.
What a ride it has been.
Thank you for making Pep’s what it is, and for giving our family so many memories that we’ll carry with us forever.
Keep supporting Pep’s. Keep sitting at the bar, keep ordering another bottle and keep making it your place. Say g’day to Michelle, Alex and Dan. They’re good people and they love the dream.
So for now, it’s goodbye as we take a break. We’re never too far away as we continue to build Stuart St. Cellars — we still have to make sure you’re drinking great w**es at home!!!!
With love and a very big thank you and… we’ll see you at Pep’s!
Tarsh & Charlie xx
