PRESENTING shade Wednesdays: FOR THE DOLLS

We return with our regular scheduled kickons in collaboration with the iconic FOR THE DOLLS for the biggest midweek fundraiser party ever!

Taking over both floors of the legendary Connections Nightclub for our first double floor, double event, double ended night!

You better dance FOR THE DOLLS with beats by DJs Margie Rita margie rita, Infinitee infinitee!, Arabella arabella & Amylia Rush Amylia Rush

With performances starting at midnight rotating between both spaces, hosted by community icons Kara Elkes kara elkes & Veronica Jean Jones Veronica Jean Jones, and featuring Impulse Kuntrol Impulse Cuntrol, Moesha 𝕄 𝕆 𝔼 π•Š ℍ 𝔸 🌺 β€˜Akava’ine & the Boorloo Ballroom Boorloo Ballroom community. Plus, keep an eye out for some extra surprises and giveaways throughout the night.

With a lineup packed full of fierce trans divas, dudes, dolls, DJs and performers, how could you not be FOR THE DOLLS?

All funds raised on the night will be split between the FOR THE DOLLS Fund, helping these incredible community events continue to thrive, and local trans women currently fundraising for gender affirming care, healthcare that remains largely inaccessible and is not covered by Medicare.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which shade Wednesdays: FOR THE DOLLS is held, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

SHADE HEADLINER.
Conceived around a portable speaker blasting Paranoid London and Locked Club, Sarco is the latest project of Shinead Ruby, Joel Martin and Harley Barnaby. Known in the past for their output in various punk rock bands (FOAM, Grunge Barbie, H***y and The Love Junkies among many others), they are now serving up a raw rendering of acid house and techno, brought to life on a minimal collection of hardware and delivered with sardonic lyrical observations of people, places... parties.

With a slew of self-releases and a recent track on Midnight Elevator’s latest compilation (MIDN010) they have been amassing a catalogue of stompers which are then brought to life during their raucous and largely improvised live sets. The stage is where this group really shines. Bringing a sense of tactility and messy physicality that only a live act can, they bridge the gap between the precision of the booth and the raw, sweat-soaked energy of the pit. It is techno in its most visceral form: a sequence of happy accidents and heavy-duty rhythms that prove the most compelling electronic music isn’t just programmed - it’s performed.

Sarco are saluting the absurdity of life in the shadow of an impending apocalypse - unashamedly coping by going out, going large, and dancing all night. With more tracks on the way and a live set that brings both grit and guile back to the stage, Sarco has worked out that the most rebellious place to be right now is the dancefloor. Be sure to catch them at your local nightclub, warehouse or back room.

Dance with .wav bringing a full hour to the main stage if at midnight supported by .am.losing.my.marbles & in both rooms from 8pm - 2am this Sunday long weekend.
